Please help me find a dress.
I have loads of lovely dressy dresses - ones that are perfect for weddings, and really special occasions. I have no dress to wear for other less formal occasions; i.e. a nice dinner out, informal family celebration.
I know what doesn't look right on me. I'm 5 ft 4" and a size 10/12 on top, but a size 14 on the bottom. Bodycon and shift dresses look awful on me - I'm all arse and hips. Fit and flare and skater styles always look way better on me. I'm too short of pull off long dresses, and too self-conscious for short short dresses, but my legs look fine and with some bit of a heel on me, anything between above -the-knee and mid-calf looks good.
So I'm looking for a nice dress, preferably with sleeves, all the better if they're 3/4 length, that I can wear on days when I need to look nice, but not like I'm off to the races/a wedding. As for colours, I'm very pale. Whites, creams and yellows all look awful on me. Purples, blues, pinks and greens all look good. I need definite colour, rather than pastels, as otherwise I look unwell.
So Mumsnetters, does anybody have any ideas on where I might find this elusive dress please?
