Harem pants (trousers)

So ‘summer’ has struck and yet again I have no bloody trousers to wear.

Chinos end up bagging, I can’t wear straight linen trousers (too short, size 14/16 - look like a rectangle) found some light as air harem pants (or are they called trousers?!) with a high-ish waist in the same material as the trousers but smocked if that makes sense. They hide the flab reasonably, go in at the waist (I still have a waist)but what to wear on the top? Can’t wear really tight stuff as too flabby but loose stuff with Harem pants = teletubby. Can you tuck loose tops in or does that make you look like boobs with legs. It’s all very confusing!

I wear a vest top or camisole with a kimono sleeve open jacket or light floaty 'cardi'.

Love them for comfort! I wear with a tight vest/top it I think they add the illusion of being bigger than you are

I usually wear a vest top and denim jacket with my harems.

Currently floaty cardigan is from Oakley. I like Surf shops for light clothes with bright patterns. Keeps it younger as well.

Yes that’s my concern Prosecco, I just want to be comfy and cool without looking too much of a lump. I guess comfortable in slightly looser clothes is more attractive than red faced and sweating in the wrong clothes though (not that i’m aiming to look attractive, just not terrible, high standards here y’know ).

I am a similar size to you OP and live in harems over spring and summer. I wear either a vest top or a basics style t shirt with them. I got some nice t shirts from H & M last year that are a decent length and have washed nicely.

If I need another layer I either wear a hoodie or a light khaki jacket.

Don't listen to me for style advice tho. I make Wayentta Slob look classy.

I look like I was vomited out of a hostel in Bali. Prob not v stylish but v comfortable :p

I also live in harem pants in summer (but not the really baggy ones - more the jersey looseish ones). I normally wear with a basic fitted t-shirt. Agree that a vest top would also be nice but I don't like my arms.
