Eyelash extensions - suitable for holiday?

I've never had eyelash extensions but I love the look and am usually a mascara addict. I'm going on holiday to a hot, humid, tropical climate and can imagine all my mascara dribbling down my face as I step off the plane.

I'm unlikely to go swimming but the option is there. Would eyelash extensions work in this climate and are there better/worse types? I refuse to have mink fur glued to me so I will go for silk or any other cruelty free option.

I always have extensions in and mine are fine on holiday - just make sure you keep any oils or lotion away from them.

@happy do you have individual or cluster?

Kirta · 18/04/2018 17:08

I have eyelashes on constantly. Was away for a fortnight last August and they lasted really well in the heat. Felt lovely to have them on with no other makeup. Like po said keep away from oils etc.

ineedwine99 · 18/04/2018 17:09

@Kirta which ones do you have?

Kirta · 18/04/2018 17:12

I have cluster lashes applied every 3/4 weeks. They are cruelty free (checked with lash lady!) they are possibly called Nouveau Lashes... I'll check.
Do you wear any now? Or was you thinking more strip lashes that you can apply yourself?

In case you don't do it, can i recommend Diorshow Iconic Waterproof mascara. Stayed on in the jungle and in warm outdoor showers afterwards.

I'd recommend a tubing mascara such as Blinc mascara or Blinc amplified mascara. It form tiny little tubes around each eyelash which only come off in warm water. It can smudge a little if you sneeze or something in the 10 minutes after you put it on, put once it's dry it doesn't budge.

Honestly, I have properly bawled my eyes out for an hour without any smudging. I never use anything else now.

I've worn strip lashes for events, but i'm having cluster on Saturday ahead of my holiday in a week, just hoping they last at least 3 weeks until i get back :-)

@ineedwine99 you won't look back! Grin
Take a little lash brush with you and brush them out in the morning and night. Don't pick at them and no oils near them. They will definitely see you through 3 weeks! Love the feeling of fresh lashes!
