Help- business interview what to wear

So I currently work in a slightly hippy public sector and I have an interview for a job working with local businesses next week. What do people wear in a smarter office now? Do I need a suit? Can I get away with a shift dress?

I think you need a jacket for an interview, but shift dress and jacket would be fine. Good luck!

Shift dress and jacket (they don’t need to match), in a dark-ish colour will be fine. Wear tights and court shoes, or ballet pumps if you’re not into heels. Good luck!

Dress and jacket is pretty standard interview attire these days. No need for a suit.
