Help with the chaffing!

Hi everyone,

Bit embarrassing, but I've just had a baby, I'm 2 stone overweight and I'm due to go on holiday abroad in 2 days.

I've struggled to find clothes I fit in (I'm still to big to fit in my pre pregnancy clothes) so I've bought a few dresses.

But I know I'll suffer from some inner thigh chaffing.

I have got some Spanx shorts I could wear underneath, but if it's warm, I'll probably end up sweating my tits off! Lol! Blush

Anyone got any ideas??

Roll on deodorant on the inner thighs

You’re welcome!

Lanacane anti chafe gel, next day delivery from Amazon

JustaLittlePrick · 18/04/2018 12:23

Yikes, don't wear Spanx!

Could you find cotton shorts to wear under the dresses? Really lightweight ones?

Catcrazy008 · 18/04/2018 12:24

This is designed for this and lovely smell!

How about Bandlettes?

Look at the thread about What Do Larger Ladies Wear in Summer started within the last 24 hours for recommendations for anti - chafe products!

If you are in a hurry, I recommend antiperspirant between the thighs, followed by a dusting of talcum powder.

For when you are back, I swear by Sloggi long leg knickers

Body glide is amazing stuff- get from amazon.

Northernlass99 · 18/04/2018 13:06

Loads of threads on here about this.
As an emergency measure deodorant is brilliant - roll on and allow to dry. Cheap and can be reapplied through the day. Also works for shoes chaffing.
Lancane or body glide good in normal circumstances and you can buy from chemist but when its super hot they just don't do the job for me.
The best thing for me has been big bloomers anti-chaffing knickers. Like spanx but made of the lightest material (bit like tights) and so comfortable and not hot at all.

Any leggings (primark will do), chip them off into shorts (no sewing required), wear under dresses. Wash as normal (I’ve never had any fraying, some are a few years old)

I use Sure creme deodorant for thigh and boob chafing/ itching in hot weather. It's all you need I'd say!

321zerobaby · 18/04/2018 13:39

@Member, could you please link to that thread, I've searched but can't find it. Thankyou Smile

I went to a wedding in Italy and wore a long dress with a split so couldn’t wear shorts (nor did I want to in 28 degrees) and I was astonished when the roll on deodorant on the inner thighs worked. From 3pm to 3am!

JazzyJefff · 18/04/2018 13:42

Thanks everyone, you've all been so helpful! Hopefully my tights will be chaff free this holiday!! 👍🏼 I think I'll take a few of your suggestions with me (I've ordered some Lanacane, packed some cycle shorts and bought some roll on deodorant). 🙂
