Help me find shoes for my giant feet

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for the perfect spring shoes, now that I want to shed the winter boots but it’s not yet time for summer sandals.

What I want are wedge shoes, but ones where the top/front of them comes farther up my foot (by about 2 inches) than most commonly available ones do. (That sentence makes sense in my head...) I have wide feet but they’re also quite high, and if I wear the usual type of wedges my foot spills over the edge of them and looks dreadful.

Can anyone please help?! I’d pay any amount of money for them! I just really want a simple taupe pair and a navy pair.

Can you post a pic of some that don't come up high enough so we can see what you mean? Do you mean open toed ones?

TheBitterBoy · 17/04/2018 21:21

How about these, I know they are sandalish but Good for the Sole shows are great for wider feet and very comfy www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_067010200443_-1

I got a brilliant pair from Clark's last year. And am only 40 Grin

clarks

Fly? (apologies if you hate Fly!)

or more like a boot?

sammylady37 · 17/04/2018 22:11

I’m looking for ones that start about half way down my foot and are closed. Not so much boot type ones. Thanks for the suggestions captain but they’re all too covered up for me - I’m really not good at describing this, I know. I’ll try attach pic of one that doesn’t come up far enough...

^ if the bit with the ribbon was about 2 inches longer, it’d be perfect.

sammylady37 · 17/04/2018 22:18

Something like this (in one colour) is what I’m looking for, a little higher and more ‘glam’ if possible.

I don’t ask for much, do I??!

hmmm I'm not sure they exist!

found this?

CaptainCardamom · 17/04/2018 22:22

(but it's not plain.)

I sympathise op - I hate it when I know what I want but there isn't a name for it so I can't search for it!

sammylady37 · 17/04/2018 22:24

That’s what I’m afraid of, captain. That one you found is too closed in for me, too shoe/boot-like... (I know, I know, I am very fussy Grin

Ooh brumble, they’re lovely- not exactly what I’m looking for but I’m tempted to invest anyway... plus the description of them as “high-fronted wedges” has given me a search term!

Have a look at Gabor shoes. They are very comfortable and roomy. I have loads of pairs.

OlennasWimple · 17/04/2018 22:29

M&S black ballerinas seem to fit the bill? Even if not very interesting

M&S brogue style is higher too, as are their lower heel wedge pumps

These are more casual than the ones you linked but come further up the foot - these are a more muted colour way

These go straight across so seem higher (but are ££ and very high platforms)

Russell & Bromley seem higher and there are [[http://www.russellandbromley.co.uk/wedges/coco-nut/invt/431507 various styles and colours on their website

brumblebee · 17/04/2018 22:31

Maybe these which are more like your picture: www.houseoffraser.co.uk/shoes-and-boots/moda-in-pelle-galdo-low-casual-shoes/d895009.pd#290233718

CaptainCardamom · 17/04/2018 22:32

OK I'm becoming obsessed and have to go and get on with stuff! But here are 2 more:

navy

black but might come in other colours

sammylady37 · 17/04/2018 22:35

Ooh I think we’re onto something with the m&s ballerinas - not the most stylish but I’ve long since given up the battle of comfort vs style! I think they’d fit and I like the pewter colour. Thanks Olennas!

I just found these too: www.walkinstyle.co.uk/high-front-c263/leather-high-front-moccasin-shoe-p648?attribute%5B3%5D=99

Rieker have various in their slip on summer/spring collections which look fairly high up the front of the foot. Wonderfully comfortable, too!
