Best outfit for newborn photo shoot

Trying to be an organized mum and booked ourselves in for a newborn photo shoot when DD2 makes her appearance in June.

Trying to figure out our clothes atm as I won’t be hitting the shops with a newborn . So I need something floaty around the mum tum/possible Csec scar and accessible for breastfeeding. I’m fairly busty already so something not too tight would be suitable.

Any suggestions anyone? Also - accessories or no? Plan on getting my hair washed and blow dried that morning to make me feel better and to paint my nails a nude color.

I am useless at style but out photographer advised us to wear a neutral, light colours on top and plain not patterned, I suppose to keep the focus on you and your baby rather than the clothes. Very impressed that you are this organised! Your photographer may have different ideas though so may be worth asking them.

You couldn’t really see a whole outfit in our newborn shoot as it was mostly close ups. So plain colours work well.

For our first ds I wore a nice navy cotton top with dark jeans, it had a very simple lace pattern at neckline and buttons up the back for bf access. Second time around I wore a nice light Oasis shirt in a dark colour with a floral pattern, with black jeans. While it was a patterned top I chose tones for me, ds1, ds2 and dh wore a short and chinos that all toned in together even though they were strong colours and it worked very well. I had a C section both times so wore maternity jeans, just because I'm not a floaty dress kinda person and our photos were done in winter!

I wore dark colours for my newborn shoots--baby skin looks lovely and fresh against black!
