I need your help Smile

I was recently promoted into quite a senior position which I'm really happy about Smile.

I've always dressed according to the dress code which is basically smart casual. I've become so used to my flats and black trousers and dress mainly for comfort.

Now I have been promoted and I am part of a more senior team - I am expected to wear business dress and to be fair I want to dress to feel more assertive/confident.

Soooooo I need help with ideas for what to buy and where from! And where can u find comfy mid heel shoes?

I'm a size 12- 14, has

Does jewellery matter? What about handbags? And also what kind of coat/jacket?

Thanks in advance!

I have a selection of navy blue dresses (Boden, JL, Hobbs) and add jacket or smart cardigan. Flats or heels - M&S, Hotter, Clarks. I can cover pretty much all seasons like this.

My work wardrobe is mostly Boden dresses, I’m a 12, occasional 14 in trousers, and find they’re cut well for my body.

I wear clothes from a mix of Cos, Hobbs, Jigsaw and some H&M mixed in - they do some great stylish shirts in natural fabrics if you look carefully. I tend to wear skirts and shirts or dresses as well as some cullottes with a mix of slightly funkier shoes - not always black or navy and also sometimes statement jewellery. I try not to look boring but still business smart.

Presumably your budget has increased with your promotion. Look at places like Finery, MeandEm, Winser, COS. I'd say shoes and bags can really lift cheaper basics though. And nice but simple jewellery, a good watch etc.

I have a really nice all saints suit, the cut is amazing. I have a few shirts and blouses from H&M and a few french connection dresses.

Shoes I buy from places like carvella and dune. I have a bunion which kills so I really need a shoe with nice soft leather. I would love some Russell and Bromley loafers but oh would kill me if I spent £175 on a pair of work shoes.

What industry do you work in?

Agree with suggestion of Hobbs. I also have had good dresses from Reiss.
