Can you reccomend a good bag for the plane?

Thinking of a soft tote bag with a zip but not a huge one. Luggage will be in the hold. I'll have travel documents, book, glasses, make up bag and purse.

How are you guys washing yours?

jammiebammie · 16/04/2018 13:46

Can I jump on this please, and ask if anyone has the longchamp rucksack?
I’ve been looking at the ‘le pliage’ for travelling in the summer, but think I would like my hands free - are they nearly as good?

WellTidy · 16/04/2018 14:34

Thanks era, I wouldn't like it either if it was as light as that. That's good to know.

TodoDoingDone · 16/04/2018 18:26

Look! There is an alternative to le pliage! Wink

Longchamp Le Pliage

There is a reason why virtually everyone has one.

jammie

I was thinking of getting the rucksack prompted by a recent break but I’ve never tried one.

I've got the little backpack. It's fairly small compared to the tote, but really useful. Can manage all say in a city break situation but not super comfortable straps if the bag v heavy etc, I have it in black. Has the brown leather top, a zip around the top and fabric straps.

There are lots of Le pillage options of bags can someone please let me know, is it shopper or tote ? And which size is best please.

Littlelondoner · 16/04/2018 20:28

I love my marc jacobs tote. Real life mary poppins bag. It doesnt have zip thougj annoyingly

hammeringinmyhead · 16/04/2018 21:43

Mine is a tote bag in large. £75 but mine was £50 at Bicester Village.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 16/04/2018 22:15

I've just ordered the Reisenthel (sp?) one as my beloved flight bag has just died and I like the solid base and this one looks great.

GrimDamnFanjo · 17/04/2018 17:23

Can anyone advise if the Longchamp corners are hard wearing? I've been put off from buying one in case the corners get scuffed and worn easily?

polyhymnia · 17/04/2018 17:33

Major Le Pliage fan here. Find them incredibly hardwearing. I always go for the tote with the long handles, which perch really well and comfortably on shoulder.

hammeringinmyhead · 17/04/2018 19:52

I'll be honest - one corner has worn on both of mine. Pretty quickly too. You can send them back for repair but I haven't bothered.

HildaZelda · 18/04/2018 00:12

OP, just be aware that if you're flying Ryanair, their 'personal bag' size is now limited to 35×20×20 cm.

Gonegrey31 · 18/04/2018 00:21

I have the Gwyneth bag advertised by Vogue, bought mine recently in TK Maxx for about £25. Had no idea it was considered stylish ! It is a fantastic bag, very light weight but capacious and can be stuffed under the seat in front easily . Travelled all around Chile with it recently on loads of flights , it still looks pristine.

name54321 · 18/04/2018 04:04

Is it the nylon one you're all talking about?

What's the interior like? I quite fancy the navy one but I don't like it if it's too dark inside, then i can't find anything

littlebillie · 18/04/2018 07:35

Devin Tripp

Bluesheep8 · 18/04/2018 07:53

I'd suggest Kipling because of all the pockets. I flew long haul with mine and it was great for being able to find everything. It's one if the larger ones from qvc.
