Trouser outfit for wedding

Can anyone help me find a nice outfit to wear to a wedding? I'm fed up with dresses, and I've tried a lot of jumpsuits on and unfortunately they don't seem to suit me as I think I'm too short.
I'm on the short side, about 5'4 and size 8/10 - quite boyish (no boobs to speak of). I'm mid-40s.

Any ideas? I went to Reiss recently, I like the clothes but the assistant insisted on bringing me slinky dresses rather than trousers. I just want to feel comfortable but also look nice. My style tends towards the scruffy rather than glamorous, but I would be willing to attempt glamour for an evening. I have been looking at both cigarette-type trousers and wide leg, but can't seem to find a trouser/top combo that I like.

Any ideas where I should be looking?

Thank you in advance

These 'paper bag' style trousers are really nice. I think they look nice with a cami and a nice little jacket. Or a silk blouse.

Thank you Collins. I have tried a pair of these on, and I am wide of thigh and ankle- so they accentuate rather than hide my shape (not in a good way!).

Thanks for answering though

How about some simple navy wide leg trousers like these and then a lovely top?

You can take them to a tailor to get the hems taken up so that they fit you perfectly

Olennas - I have been looking at those. I like them, and I think they would suit me. What sort of top do you think would suit the trousers without looking too 'office-y? I need some sort of sleeve.

I like www.reiss.com/p/sleeveless-lace-top-womens-marina-in-silver-lake-grey/ but the lack of sleeves puts me off.

I like this but there might be a bit too much fabric going on with the wide trousers too

I love orange with navy

This is really pretty and simple

So is this

This is more of a statement

As is this silk blouse

This would give you a great waist (though careful with the accessories so you don't end up looking like a sailor!)

More casual but still glamorous enough

What do you think? Any particularly appeal?

Olennas - thank you! I like the Mint Velvet and the Reiss tops. I'm more drawn to the Reiss out of both of them. Would that work with navy trousers without looking too work like?
