Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I'm looking at dresses for a formal event in late June and this brand comes up a lot. Looks lovely... Would have to order online but narrow it down to max 2 dresses and send one back.

Also for a black tie ball would you definitely wear long, or is knee length better?

Black Tie ball= full length

I like A Papell for formal events; lovely dresses that are just a bit different.

Yeh her dressss are lovely

Ah thank you both! I've been to a black tie dinner recently and there it was principally knee length, but I suppose a ball is different!

They are lovely dresses but they come up very long. So be careful if you are short (I'm 5ft 4) and the beading goes to the bottom of the dress because your dressmaker will struggle to adjust it.

House of Fraser often have them on sale

Good tips both. Giving the measurements I think I need a larger size than usually (14 or possibly 16) and I do worry a bit it will then be too long for me. I'm 5'7.

Might see if I can get to HoF.

It's a nice brand for formal wear. They are quite fitted, so go by the size chart rather than your go to size. John lewis has a good selection too, but tends to have a lot more choice online rather than in store. Ordering a few directly to store in JL or HoF and then returning those you don't want straight away is a good move. Ariella is another brand worth trying.
