John Lewis purchase. Anyone know if ...

I bought a foundation online from John Lewis. I’ve used the same shade for a while and when I tried to reorder, it apparently has been discontinued. Another matte product has taken its place so, I ordered in the same shade. Have used it a few times this week. It’s not comparable with the old product in terms of shade, at all. This is nice and would do the job well but for the fact that the “new” shade 30 is full on orange, on me.

What can I do? Can I return it and go for a shade lighter? Would they exchange it? It was very expensive and frankly, is useless to me (even in summer). Why do they discontinue stuff and bring out a replacement with the same numbered shades when they’re different? It makes online buying so unreliable for those of us who live in the sticks!

Some shops are good for this - even if you very opened it. I think it's worth a try - just explain that you thought it was the same as the discontinued one.

I’ll give it a go. I have the receipt. I added in some “lightening drops” this morning but it looks “off” now in a different way. It was £40 so, not impressed. In the bottle, it didn’t look that orange but I think the bottle is kind of frosted iykwim.
