I’ve been using this for a little while and it’s a godsend between hair colours for hiding grey roots but the last two times when at hairdressers my roots haven’t taken and i am wondering if there is a connection. Has anyone else found this?

thanks

No and I use it all the time. I also have very colour resistant grey..

When I got my hair done once the hairdresser was telling another client to make sure she had washed all the retouch stuff out as it stopped the colour from taking properly

i forgot to say the first time i washed it out and this week i mentioned it to hairdresser and she washed it out. i am a bit confused as to why this is happening unless it’s to do with menopause and my hair changing

I had a few random experiences with hair colour not taking. It turned out to be because of John Frieda Root Lift Spray. Are you using any kind of thickening spray?

I always wash out the Magic retouch spray but I mentioned it to my hairdresser last time and she said there was no need to.

no not using any thickening spray

Hairspray or anything else?
Could it be your shampoo and conditioner?

mine always tells me to wash it out, or she can't see where to put the root touching up colour on - she doesn't just colour the whole head, but specifically the roots, so she has to be able to see it properly. Maybe she wasn't able to put it in the right places and missed bits?

I have learnt from experience that my colour never seems to take as well when I've used Magic Retouch or dry shampoo so I avoid when I know I'm going to dye my hair.
