Best flip flops for plantar fasciitis?

To wear instead of slippers as I can no longer wear them and go nip to yoga in. I would thoroughly recommend Pilates and Yoga if anyone is suffering with sore feet btw!

Fitflops cured my plantar fascitis!

blametheparents · 13/04/2018 14:14

Fitflops cured my PF the first time I got it. When I got it again 2 years later, fitflops did nothing! I ended up having Electro Shockwave Therapy. Painful, but it worked.
But, if you really want to wear sandles of done variety then Fitflops are probably best.

ShotsFired · 13/04/2018 14:19

Thirding fitflops.

When mine is playing up I wear them instead of my normal slippers.

EachandEveryone · 13/04/2018 14:20

FitFlop online have some on sale/clearance.

Blahblahblahyadayadayada · 13/04/2018 14:43

Blame the parents, do you mind sharing what you now wear? I find fitflops generally great around the house for my PF but would consider alternatives. Thanks!

AlannaOfTrebond · 13/04/2018 15:43

I live in my Fitflop boots buy can't wear the flip flops as my feet slide off them sideways for some reason.

I wear Rocket Dogs instead, any of their styles with the thick sole. It's about an inch thick and ends up moulding to my feet so I end up with a sort of custom arch support.

You can get them on Amazon for a tenner.

EachandEveryone · 13/04/2018 16:12

Will the flatter ones work just as well?

What flatter flipflops? No, it's flat shoes that cause plantar fasciitis. I got my fit flops in the on line sale for £15 at the end of last summer - got them to have in for this year.

Littlepumpkinpie · 13/04/2018 16:32

Birkenstock or fitflops work for me

DearTeddyRobinson · 13/04/2018 16:38

Tenth-ing Fitflops! The only things I could walk in without limping post- ankle surgery. Magic things.

AlannaOfTrebond · 13/04/2018 17:24

If the question about the flatter ones was for me Echo, any one the ones like this work for me.

greendale17 · 13/04/2018 17:26

Birkenatocks are nice for a few months until they turn into hard, uncomfortable sandals

LIZS · 13/04/2018 17:27

Fitflop website has clearance from £12 upwards. Occasionally they do extra 20% off for a few days.

Secretsout · 13/04/2018 21:14

I've just been diagnosed with this in one foot, I'm in agony. Is it the higher heeled flip flops that I should buy or the lower ones they do? Sorry, I don't know how to try and link.

LIZS · 13/04/2018 21:18

Not the iqushion but the wedge style. Lulu is the plain basic one but there are others reduced.

Secretsout · 13/04/2018 21:27

Oh great, thank you @LIZS I'm desperate. Will order some now

EachandEveryone · 13/04/2018 23:04

Let me know which ones u order. Shame it’s not free delivery

Crocs flip flops cured my PF. Notbthe most stylish but ok for puttering and about the house. Fitflops are great too.

I’m convinced that Birkenstocks contributed to my PF.

Secretsout · 15/04/2018 09:50

@eachandeveryone I ordered these. www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/sale-all-uk/leather-lattice-surfa-flip-flops-p-A45-090

Totally ugly and won't be seen dead in them outside but I'll wear them around the house.

I've really been concentrating on my exercises and rolling it on ice and I can feel a slight improvement.

Secretsout · 15/04/2018 10:18

Given that fit flops are so ugly.....can anyone recommend nice shoes and trainers? What should I look for? (PS. I work in a job where I have to be very well presented so I usually wear nice heels - not any more 😢)

Pattylogic · 15/04/2018 19:17

Skechers Go Walk trainers are comfortable Secretsout.

schnubbins · 16/04/2018 07:13

I have massive problems with my feet due to an ankle fracture when young.Had surgery to have my ankle joint fused but an MRI last year showed that my heel bone has shifted , further joint erosion in foot and heel plus plantar fasciitis.Last summer I was in agony and could just barely get around .Wass given orthopaedic shoes which nearly killed me.Anyway started wearing skechers trainers and crocs flip flops and I am doing really really well.i honestly cant believe the difference.A new lease of life for me!

MrsGusset · 21/04/2018 10:02

The shoes that have helped me most with PF are Earth Spirit because they give good arch support.

Don't know of many high street stockists but they're available online including at Amazon.
