I've ran out of my Clinique High Impact mascara and can't afford to replace it. Can anyone recommend a good, cheaper Blush alternative?

Maybelline Big Lash is my fave. It's £4.99 and I love it, prefer it even to other more expensive brands. It's the one with the pink barrel and green handle. There's two very similar ones, one which is a softer pink barrel and is a smaller brush. The brighter pink has a bigger brush which is better for volume (I use the thinner brush as I dont need volume, just length).

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Aldi Lacura 3D mascara to be honest! It was £3 or under I think (can't remember now) It's nice and thick, gives full coverage, no clumping. Really impressed!

LilyRose16 · 13/04/2018 11:57

Another vote here for Aldi, I've ditched YSL for it!

LilyRose16 · 13/04/2018 11:57

And I know plenty of makeup artists who have switched to Aldi

Nicpem1982 · 13/04/2018 12:00

The nyx curves one and the make up revolution one are both good

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 13/04/2018 12:00

I recently bought a Maybelline one - can't remember what its called but its in a purple tube and has a comb rather than a brush applicator. I've been really impressed so far.

Jozxyqk · 13/04/2018 12:05

I really like this Boots No7 mascara. Cheapest tubing mascara I've found that's available to buy in a high street shop. Pretty good, too. No remover needed either, just warm water.

Lanaa · 13/04/2018 12:11

The Aldi one is amazing but not available all the time. Another good one is the Wilko Essence lash princess one. It's about £3 and fantastic. I've stopped using Dior to switch to this.

nickEcave · 13/04/2018 12:12

I've used Max Factor Masterpiece for 10 years - really like it. About £9.99 from Boots.

Bluelady · 13/04/2018 12:21

Another vote for the Wilko one.

LamppostInWinter · 13/04/2018 12:26

Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour ultra black edition. It's the best I've ever used, it looks like you've got (natural) falsies on.

twilightcafe · 13/04/2018 12:27

The Aldi 3D mascara is the bees knees. As good as Lancome Hypnose but a fraction of the price. I buy a year's supply whenever it's in stock.

Luckingfovely · 13/04/2018 12:27

There have been threads recently about the Collection Lash Surge mascara which is about 3.99 in Boots. The tube is a dupe of Lancôme Hypnose. I have Hypnose, and bought Lash Surge to compare.

It's okay - not as good, but 3.99 compared to 26.00 - about what you'd expect.

or - go and buy Red Magazine which has a free Rodial mascara this month!

Luckingfovely · 13/04/2018 12:28

Ooooh and now I'm going to Aldi!

3catsandcounting · 13/04/2018 12:34

Another vote for Aldi 3D. Amazing stuff!

Heatherbell1978 · 13/04/2018 12:37

To be honest I've not found anything to match Clinique High Impact and I've really tried!! Aldi one was ok but best IMO is No7. Although not the cheapest. I tend to buy a pack of 3 Clinique ones at the airport whenever I travel so I tend to have a stash.

MinesaPinot · 13/04/2018 13:05

I got Red on the way home last night and have got the Rodial on at the moment. It's nice but not wow'ing me - I needed 2 coats to get the coverage that I like. I've got the Lash Surge which is good for the money, but after 2 weeks has gone a bit thick and gloopy.

I'd like to try the Aldi one, but our Aldi doesn't always have make-up in stock, so I don't want to try it, get addicted and never be able to get it again IYSWIM.

Love love the Clinique High Impact though, and do the same as Heatherbell and buy the triple pack at the airport as and when I travel.

hammeringinmyhead · 13/04/2018 13:20

MUA Amplify Volume mascara. £3 from Superdrug and it's amazing. The packaging says "Amplify Statement Lash".

thethoughtfox · 13/04/2018 13:25

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot. I only every wore YSL or Dior but gave this a chance and my lashes look bigger and better.

HabituallyOptimistic · 13/04/2018 13:37

They've just stopped making the one I use so this thread is really useful. I had no idea Aldi did make up!

64BooLane · 13/04/2018 13:41

Op, if you pm me your address I will post you the mini high impact I just got as a freebie. It smudges on me and I was literally just wondering if there was anyone I know who might use it Smile

64BooLane · 13/04/2018 13:42

I haven’t opened it btw! I know it smudges from past mini freebies. This one is still untouched.

MsAtomicBomb · 13/04/2018 13:42

Thanks everyone so much for all the suggestions. I have just been to Asda and picked up the Maybelline one for now but will definitely look at some of the others too. My mum will be on strict lookout for the Aldi one now as she shops there a lot.

64boolane Cross post, sorry! If you didn't mind that would be amazing! Will PM you now Smile

That no7 tubing mascara is great: I just wish I’d read it was tubing before I did my usual trick of picking it off at the end of the day. Well I tried to and then ripped a pinch full of eyelashes out!!
