Where do I start with skincare?

Seem to have got to nearly 35 without sorting out a skincare routine.
Am terrible at cleansing and removing make up although I always use moisturiser (Boots P and P) in the morning as my skin feels tight without it.

I think I have combination skin as cheeks often feel tight and dry but nose oily and gets white 'blockages' (milia??)

I recently went to S Korea which has inspired me to sort out my skincare regime (bought some snail masks!) but am so behind!

I am in London so can anyone recommend a good facialist who could 'diagnose' my skin for me? Don't want to go to someone who is basically on commission to sell products for one company...

Bump - any recommendations for facialist or 'miracle' products v gratefully received! Have looked on Caroline Hirons who recommends one lady in London but they seem to be friends ?!

Bumping for you as I'm in a similar situation!

I learned from CH about double cleansing and it's changed my skin totally. I use Dermalogica's Precleanse then Liz Earle's hot cloth cleanser. No acids at all and I never exfoliate with anything scratch or beady. Occasionally I use Decleor's Aroma Cleanse on it's own if I'm in a rush but making time to cleanse properly makes such a difference to my skin.

My skin is naturally pretty oily but using an oil on it has reduce the oiliness; Elemis and Decleor's facial oils are my favourites.

Clinique's every day SPFs are great for making sure you don't over expose your skin to harmful rays, too.

Plus, drink lots of water. It's dull but really does work.

I am so so terrible at drinking enough water! Definitely need to do that!

Started double cleansing this week! I have a cleansing oil (Bobbi Brown) and milk (Rituals) from birthday presents so am going to use those up

Also bought REN Omega 3 sérum which was recommended by Hirons as a gentle option. Don't want to alarm my skin too much when it is used to no looking after at all !

I use a combined foaming cleanser and toner in the morning and apply BB cream in place of moisturiser and wash with warm water and a face cloth at night.

I don't wear make up on a regular basis though.

I was using Estée Lauder cleanser, serum and moisturiser then switched to Clinique pep start products but my skin seems less dry and itchy with Superdrug products!

Hmm this is going to be tricky. I think serum has made my nose spotty as my T zone is so oily, although helping with dry cheeks. This is going to be a nightmare if have to use different products on different areas of my face.
