Does anyone have any recommendations for jewellery similar to Monica vinader? I want to get the large siren pendant on a 24inch chain but I’m a bit turned off by the MV brand recently so looking for an alternative, preferably cheaper. Any ideas?

I'm sure you'll find something similar on Etsy of Not On The High Street but you may well have to do a bit of legwork.

I have quite a few MV bits including a Siren pendant but in all honesty the quality for the price isn't great.

I've only ever bought in the sale or with a discount though.

Thanks, me too. I’ve got a siren ring that I really like but they’ve annoyed me by not reducing something else I was after on Black Friday (I’d waited for ages for that sale!) and I’ve read in a couple of places that the quality has declined. They are doing a big blogger campaign at the moment too and I don’t like that either!
I’m not keen on not on the high street, a posh eBay! I’ll have a look though in a bit of depth and see what’s around. Thanks for the recommendation

if you don't mind contacting a dude in Dubai, they can get you a similar version in solid gold for less than half the price.

I like MV designs, but it turns me off that price is for gold plated. I also love two other brands that have similar design concepts but use pure gold--one is called Dana Rebecca and the other is called Vrai and Oro.

QueenofWhisperz I love the websites you mentioned.
I'm also really interested in this dude in Dubai Smile as I had a lot of middle eastern jewellery stolen when were burgled and would love to buy some nice pieces again online as I doubt I'll be going back to Saudi! Any info appreciated.

Try the Liberty website.

@missmarple11 The Dubai dudes are called: Cara Jewellers have a look they do deliver to the UK; I bought a slim bar necklace in white gold with a teensy diamond for £50.00 where on vrai and oro have priced a similar necklace at $350. Same sized diamond, and same weight of gold.

I just love the fact that it's all pure gold, real diamonds and cheaper than than costume jewellery.

MissMarple11 · 15/04/2018 17:18

Thanks for replying I'll definitely check it out. I agree about having real gold, I really can't get over how expensive some plated costume jewellery is now.

QueenofWhisperz · 15/04/2018 17:27

i know, thank goodness for the internet :)

Cara is really expensive in terms of Dubai jewellers, although still cheaper than here by a lot. I’ve been there funnily enough! I wanted a Monica vinader stacking ring and they were more expensive than her even with varying quality of diamonds, cz, different metals etc. Thanks for the recommendation though!

@jessicapeach

really? Tell me whose cheaper. I've used Cara for the last decade and I've never been let down or found a better price, but would happily try other jewellers.

I just had a lorraine schwartz inspired setting done in an effort to revamp my engagement ring, and it cost me £100 total (I supplied my own diamonds) but everywhere else in Dubai was quoting me £500-1500.

I would love to try new jewellers when I'm out in Dubai next.

JessicaPeach · 15/04/2018 19:49

Not helpful really but I want to say Monique or mona, I can’t check either as I’m not in any of the Dubai fb groups anymore. I’ll think on if and see if it comes to me!

I just thought I'd bump this back up for you as I've just seen that Fleur de Force is doing a paid partnership with MV and has given a 20% discount code. MVFDF2018. It's valid for 48 hours.

Maybe that makes the price more bearable?

Then again the adjuster snapped off one of my MV necklaces today which I'm not happy about!

JessicaPeach · 20/04/2018 17:45

Yes that’s great, thank you! I’m waiting for a quote from a local jeweller too :)
