Please help me find an evening dress

Hi.

I'm accompanying DH to a Gala dinner and I have to have an evening/cocktail dress and I haven't a clue where to start. I'm 5ft 3, size 14. I'd like to avoid having to wear heels if possible as I'm likely to fall flat on my face. (You can tell I get out a lot can't you ). I'd like to spend not more than £100 but don't even know if that's realistic. Oh and if it makes a difference, I'm fair skinned with short dark hair.

I am short too and I think you need something simple if you want to avoid heels.
