Anyone fancy joining me in a summer clothes for HoC Winters thread?

Hello HoC Winters. I used to enjoy lurking and sometimes posting on the old HoC winters thread on here but there's not been any activity for a while.

I'm looking to add some colour to my summer wardrobe having lived in mainly navy/grey and burgundy for the winter. I know summer clothes in 'winter' colours can sometimes be a challenge - it's easy to end up in just white and navy - so I thought I'd share a couple of my latest buys.

I got this Boden maxi dress in bright pink and this Phase Eight dark emerald asymmetric light weight knit.

I've not bought anything from Boden in ages (as I'm not a patterns person) but it's a plain colour, I love a maxi dress and the cut of the top is very me. I was drawn to the navy which is an 'outstanding' colour for me top to toe but I went for the pink which is close to HoC magenta IRL which is only a 'very good' at 50%. (Still hankering after the navy a bit though).

I've never bought from Kettlewell as the pieces haven't seemed very stylish. But I'm keen to add some bright blues and purples to my wardrobe so took a look last night and might give some of the more fitted t-shirts a go. Maybe this and/or this.

What are you buying or coveting for this summer?

I bought this from Kettlewell. I know its not very exciting but it is very comfortable and I think will be very easy to put on in the morning:

Love the colour of the Brora dress Rosie.

How about this berry broderie dress from Next as a budget alternative? Nowhere near as lovely naturally but looks like it could be a good colour.

For swimwear Maraki I I do have a black bikini but my favourites are emerald green and cobalt. I've also got bright pink and burgundy (I have a bit of a bikini habit). I'm quite pale and think they all look good even without a tan. I just bought this cobalt bikini from Next. They also do other styles of top and bottom, you can mix and match sizes and the tops come in bra cup sizes. I find them great value.

Thanks for the Kettlewell sizing info NiceHotBath. I'm usually size 8/10 and not very 'norky' so will give XS a try. I have long arms so that bodes well for cooler weather styles.

I bought this M&S light emerald t-shirt today. Size came up a bit small for M&S, I needed a 10 when I'm usually an 8 in there. The bright blue was a good colour too but the red is too orangey. I see online that they do other styles too.

I plan to wear it with navy parallel leg linen trousers, white or indigo skinny jeans.

Fabulous thread- thank yoy. Reading with interest! Struggling with summer work clothes and moving away from uniform of black opaques plus bright dresses

@LongGame - Love the Next dress colour, but chest frills and norks do not mix, unfortunately. I’ll keep looking as I need a summer dress (criteria are linen, has a waist, covers shoulders), and add to this thread if I spot anything in the right colours.

I had a very rare afternoon yesterday without DC and some £ to spare on myself, and spent it in London, Oxford Street. What did I come home with? Teo pairs of Primark pjs! 🙈

I went to Zara, Mango, River Island, M&S, Massimo Dutti, etc... everywhere there were beige, beige, and more BEIGE clothes. And salmon pink and faded navy with more BEIGE.

But...I did see quite a few lovely quality red striped tops in Beneton:

Just type ‘striped’ in the search box on their website and you will get masses.

The Primark pjs are very nice colours for us Winters and were only £6!

Lovely pj's Maraki

I really like the first Benetton t-shirt you linked to. It's my favourite shape and I could do with some pieces in that shade of blue. And I love stripes.

Haven't bought anything from Benetton since about 1986 and wouldn't have thought to look. They'd gone right off my radar.
