Talk to me about teenage bra stuff!

My dd1 is 13 and dd2 is 11. They have been using primark first bras but I think they may need to begin to wear ones with a bit more support. My town is small and there isn't anywhere that offers bra fittings plus I think both my girls would feel very awkward. I'm guessing I will have to measure them myself and I don't really know how to go about that.

How often do teenage girls need to be measured? What sort of bras? I was the youngest with three older brothers, brought up by my dad so I'm a bit clueless really.

I got dd soft cup bras from m&s. She wears a 30DD I think

there's a very helpful calculator called Boob or Bust.

They need to get measured shortly before each purchase, and they need new bras when the old ones become uncomfy, or they have grown a clothes size generally.

thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html is excellent.

Then order from anywhere with a good returns policy.

Go to your nearest big M&S. Getting measured is really important and I'd want them in quality bras. DD who is 12 has been wearing bras for about 6 months and has massively changed sizes - started at 30A and now 32D. Good quality fitters will look for bras that provide support whilst your DDs change, with growing room and advise how often they need measuring.

I'd avoid M&S tbh as they often add extra inches to the back size which gives a bra too big in the back and too small in the cup. Have a go at measuring at home to get an idea of size

Don't go anywhere near M&S - you'd be far better off measuring yourself!

I measured my teenage dd, ordered from Bravissimo/Figleaves etc.

Have also taken her to Bravissimo and they were great with her.

She's 17 now so grown a few sizes over the years, she's 28E now, a size 8/10.

Or I would avoid them measuring your Dd's as their teen bras could fit ok if you go by your own measurements

I measure DD 13 myself and have bought bras in M&S and recently Peacocks who have a Kylie range that are pretty. DD said oh is that Kylie Jenner? Minogue! DD had no idea who she was ha ha!
