Can I get away with untucked??

I'll start my saying I have no idea about fashion. I'm starting a new job in an office environment soon and it's the first job I've worked that doesn't have a set uniform (cue panic).

I am short, very busty and have a bit of a stomach on me (not a great catch I know). I have bought some shirts/blouses like the one pictured as I find, if I wear them untucked with smart trousers and some heels, it tends to be a fairly flattering look on me.

But if I tuck them in I look all boobs and stomach and it just looks awful. I wore similar (untucked) to the interview and it didn't seem to bother them since I got the job but I'm worried that I'll turn up and they'll think I look scruffy.

So what's the general consensus? Does everybody tuck these days or can I get away with untucked?

Can I get away with untucked??

Of course you can. There's nothing different about a shirt like the one above, to a "top" worn untucked. Like a smock style. That shirt is smart and with smart trousers, it will be perfectly acceptable and nice.

Most women in my office wear their shirts untucked, you’ll be fine. Good luck with new job.

I never tuck. It doesn't suit me, I don't like the look etc. Good luck with your new job!

Thank goodness for that! Thank you everyone :)

Where did you get your shirt from?

MsHomeSlice · 08/04/2018 10:32

what is the model doing with that shirt? In or out, make up your mind!

I quite like a fitted shirt, unbuttoned a bit too low, but with a vest top under...is that out now? Is it all blousey styles?

Scabetty · 08/04/2018 10:43

Shirts tend to untuck on me as I move around alot in my job. I would go with untuck.

Cakedoesntjudge · 08/04/2018 11:20

Dinosaurs I got that one from eBay (I'm on a budget Blush but I've managed to find similar styles in Dorothy Perkins before - in fact, there's usually one knocking around somewhere in Outfit if you have one near you.

MsHomeslice I completely agree! I always think it just looks like a bit of the shirts got caught up when people wear them half tucked but maybe it's a fashion thing that I'm just out of the loop on! I also like the unbuttoned with a best top underneath but I'm going to wait and see what other people are wearing before I see if I can get away with that one.

I never tuck, if I do my boobs sit on my waist

Peanutbuttercups21 · 08/04/2018 21:35

Tucking in is very 80s!
