I have w doing to attend next month and I’m fed up looking for an outfit. All would be fine if I was 4 inches taller!

I have this dress which I bought last year for a family event which didn’t happen, and I’ve never worn it.

These aren’t the shoes I’d wear, just trying to show the length with heels. I think it’s maybe a bit casual for a wedding? What do you think? Is there anyway I can dress it up, or should I just keep hating my hobbit body shopping??

Personally I'd go for a nude pump to make you look taller. Don't do an ankle strap as they cut off legs and make them look shorter

Tanaqui · 08/04/2018 08:56

That is a really good dress on you! Will you need a cardi/ jacket- is any of it likely to be cold?

privateporcupine · 08/04/2018 09:28

I think maybe a wrap instead of a jacket as I can’t see anything I like jacket-wise.

I’ve added some shoes I like the look of. Opinions welcome. Can’t seem to get away from straps much though! The ones in my own photo are just fastened too tight. I would take them down a notch.

I quite like the orange ones.

privateporcupine · 08/04/2018 14:26

I’m not sure, but I think I love them. Not sure I can justify the price though, as orange isn’t a colour I normally wear so would struggle to get good use out of them.

But then I tell myself that’s okay since I’m not buying a new dress now.

First Aldo ones are lovely!! And you’ll be able to wear them again easily. They’ll look really good with the dress too, and nude/pink shoes are supposed to make the legs look longer. I wouldn’t go for any hair/head accessories as they tend to throw an outfit and make people look older (in my opinion obviously!)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/04/2018 19:29

It's gorgeous. The silver shoes look lovely as well.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/04/2018 19:31

Oh the pink shoes are the nicest.
Classy feminine and sophisticated.
What's not to love

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/04/2018 19:31

I think orange is quite a shocking colour.

dontticklethetoad · 08/04/2018 19:54

My vote is for the orange.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 08/04/2018 20:07

I think the orange shoes are too bright an orange compared to the dress. Plus they are quite fussy. I think you need a plain style coloured shoe

privateporcupine · 08/04/2018 20:19

I had settled on the pink Aldo shoe, but it’s not available anywhere in my size Sad

Me again! What about this shoe? Too much? I eyed it up before for something and didn’t buy it, and it came up tonight when I searched “nude statement shoe”.

But I’m not sure if it’s the right colour or will be too fussy with the big, bright pattern on my dress.

No, not too fussy OP. I'd go brighter with your bag, jewellery or hair flower rather than matching with nude shoes though.

privateporcupine · 15/04/2018 21:33

I’d still really welcome some visual ideas for shoes, bag, wrap, etc. as I’m really struggling to choose and picture it all together. Only a few weeks to go!

I know New Look are a bit cheap and cheerful when it comes to shoes...

But I like these.

I do like a good high heel so apologies if these are too high.

Lovely colour Lady, but I’m not a fan of the platform soles.

Me again Blush

How about these shoes and bag? Added a photo of the dress again for comparison. Are the shoes and bag too different a shade?
