Varicose vein treatment

Pregnancies have wrought havoc on my legs and I am now the not-so-proud owner of a large collection of hideously unsightly varicose veins.

While I wouldn't swap my children for my old legs, I would like to be able to wear skirts/summer clothes without being horribly self conscious and scaring people.

So, I would like to have them sorted out but know very little about what this involves. Before I Google further, I wonder if anyone has any first hand info they might be able to share with me regarding what to expect/look for/avoid when looking to have VVs treated?

Thank you!

I had EVLT on mine about 5 years ago. It was done under local anaesthetic. Results were good and the recovery wasn't too bad. I had to wear a pressure bandage for about a week, and have minimal scars.
