I’m wedding dress hunting and have in my head a specific style but can’t find it anywhere.

Has anyone come across a high neck embellished a-line dress with a plain princess skirt.

Something like this?

Like this or not high enough? It was my wedding dress.

@MaximumVolume like that but with a fuller skirt.

I’ve attached a couple of pictures. Its more the style of the first dress but more of a high neckline, with the beading of the second dress.

You might be able to have a hoop and layers to puff the bottom skirt out on the second dress.

Have you tried any on? I thought I wanted one style but ended up with something very different!

Have you thought about contacting a dressmaker? Sketching out exactly what you want? I did that after struggling to find what I had in my mind, and it was so much cheaper than I imagined it would be. Plus - unique!

You mean an illusion neckline:

Thank you but none of them are quite what I’m looking for.

I’ve found out that the neckline I want is actually called a halter neck. Like the one in this picture although I don’t particularly like this pattern.

I haven’t been to try any on yet but I thought I’d start by finding what I like online so I can start at a shop with on in stock. Didn’t realise it would be so difficult.

this?

Sealant · 10/04/2018 05:56

@moredoll that is a beautiful dress but not quite it.

I’ve found this.... www.essensedesigns.com/martina-liana/wedding-dresses/brody-sonny/

It’s the perfect shape but I want more of a beaded top than lace.

I’ve also fallen in love with this

But even once I lose the baby weight and get back into a size 12, I carry my weight on my tummy so not sure it’ll look nice on me.

this maybe? It's a real dream dress.
Best to buy slightly bigger (no more than 2 sizes) and alter down closer to the date. The fit is critical so ask around now for a good local dressmaker with experience of wedding dress alterations, and let them know. The length will probably need altering even if nothing else does.
There's also [[https://uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_40,mon_40.1/2400034612]]
Only one size 12 left in stock. Monsoon come up big I think. Try it on and return it if it's not suitable. There's a 14 [[https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/monsoon-wedding-dress-14-Bnwt-RRP-229/222916230122?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649]] on ebay atm. You could all the money you'd save on more wine!!
