Do I need primer

I'm just about to re-buy my favourite tinted moisturiser, Laura Mercier (expensive but worth it) but it seems primer is recommended before applying. Does anyone think primer is essential? I've never thought it would make a difference.

I find it definitely makes a difference but I have very oily skin. I wouldn't bother if I didn't have to.

Thanks for your response. My skin is quite dry and as I've never used primer I wondered whether it was needed. I'll save my cash! Thanks Smile

If you want something just to prolong the length of wear, try using the Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm. I was a sheep and followed the blogger hype on it and it surprisingly worked brilliantly.

I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I did dutifully buy primer once (they really pushed it in Space NK) but, although it made the moisturiser go on nicely, it didn't seem to have any other effect. What I do use though is a dab of Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage on red areas, such as my nose.

Thanks for the tip. Think I fall for the hype every time so I'll save my cash and thanks Bob I'll try the Nivea. Smile
