Buying shoes

Why is it that I'm happy to part with
££'s for a nice handbag and other items of clothing but I can't bring myself to spend more than £50 on a pair of shoes?! I really feel my footwear lets my outfits down but it pains me to spend much on a pair of shoes.

I'm the complete opposite, I can't imagine spending anymore than about £10 on something that just carries all the shit i dont want to be carrying around with me. But I would spend real good money on something that pretty that keeps my feet happy and comfortable enough to continue putting one foot in front of another day after day. I can live without handbags, I can't live with painful feet.
