Jeans for teen ds

I’m struggling to find jeans for my ds. He’s the reverse of most teenage boys as he has v short legs and is quite stocky. Any ideas? DH is the same shape but ds definitely doesn’t want jeans like his dad!

Top man in small perhaps?
I’m going to try there next for my son (14)

What waist and leg measurements do you think he needs?

BlueCowWonders · 04/04/2018 12:57

His school trousers are 38 but I looked at 38 jeans and they seemed massive

He would be considerably more than stocky if he had a 38 in waist. I wouldn't think that's right. You'll probably have to order a few random sizes to see what fits. A lot of dss friends buy women's jeans because they can get a greater selection of leg lengths. His are mens jeans but when I'm doing laundry its difficult to tell the difference between his jeans and mine.

38 waist is big for a teenager, especially if he is short! That's going to be difficult. Perhaps go for a good fit in the waist/bum/groin area and get them taken up so the leg length is right

DairyisClosed · 04/04/2018 16:00

He can't possibly be a 38 waist. Have you measured yourself?

KiraL · 04/04/2018 16:17

38?!?!?!

IWouldLikeToKnow · 04/04/2018 16:31

My (somewhat overweight) 44yr old husband wears a 38" so I don't think that's correct

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 04/04/2018 16:44

Primark men's jeans are available by leg length and waist width all combinations. Not sure if they go up to 38 waist. The shortest leg length is 28 I think. Ds1 gets the 32 length and he's only 12 so maybe the 28 would do your ds? They're a tenner each.

BertrandRussell · 04/04/2018 16:47

Have you measured? My dp has a 38in waist (40 on a bad day) and he is 6ft 4..........

BertrandRussell · 04/04/2018 16:48

Primark has a brilliant range of sizes though

HaroldsSoCalledBluetits · 04/04/2018 16:54

Yeah that's what I meant - I didn't explain very clearly. I mean you can have any waist plus any leg length combination. They have a range of styles as well - you know, from super skinny to straight to more relaxed so you can get what flatters you best. Very easy to find your way around.

blaaake · 04/04/2018 16:56

If your 14 year old has a 38 inch waist you have bigger issues to contend with.

BlueCowWonders · 04/04/2018 19:46

Blaaaa - who said my ds is 14? No idea where you got that.

So I’ve just approached ds with a tape measure. He’s actually got a 35 waist so goodness knows what his school trousers are made of
Primark seems like a good bet -will pop in tomorrow

My 12 year old son fits in to 28 waist and 30 leg jeans. Have a look for mens jeans as you can have the waist to his size and if need be have the bottom of the trousers cut to size.

BunnyEars1 · 04/04/2018 20:42

^^

Only problem with this idea is that the jeans won't taper in the correct way.

Another vote for primark!
