How can I make dungarees look feminine?

I need your advice for making my Dungarees look feminine! I have quite short hair (a bob) and sometimes I feel I look like a boy in them, so any ideas would be welcomed!

I like it when women wear them with off the shoulder tops?

If you're slim and girly-looking it shouldn't be a problem to make your dungarees look feminine - just look at a few 1980's music video's for inspiration (try Bananarama, Dexys "Come On Eileen" old footage of Kylie in her Charlene days...).
If however you're the wrong side of 35 and a sturdy size 16 (like moi) you will look like a bull dyke in dungarees whatever you do! Grin

Thanks for your suggestions! I'm in my late 20s and a size 10, but I'm not particularly feminine looking imo...I'll give them a go though as they look so comfy

Shoes with a heel definitely.

Peanutbuttercups21 · 03/04/2018 18:39

My first reaction is: by being a woman Grin

Just wear them

I think shoes are the answer. Go with some nice flats instead of trainers.

Also maybe a shirt / blouse instead of a tshirt. Like this pic maybe?

I like them with tight cropped sleeve tee shirts, sporty, stripes etc. Legs rolled up a bit with dm shoes

Greenglassteacup · 03/04/2018 18:40

Sporty = spotty

Borridge · 03/04/2018 18:41

Jewelry? Shoes with heels? Make sure your hair and makeup are up to speed. See Pinterest?

ToastyFingers · 03/04/2018 18:43

I think fabric as opposed to denim looks more feminine, I can't say much though, I manage to make a floaty dress look butch.

A pretty white blouse, with embroidery or broderie anglaise fabric looks great with dungarees.

omBreROSE · 03/04/2018 21:49

Just your bra.

bastardkitty · 03/04/2018 21:50

Spotty shirt, fitted beton top, something lacy. One at a time obviously.

Brys125 · 03/04/2018 21:54

Usually wear a scarf with mine and sometimes an over sized cardi. I always wear heels of some sort as I'm 5ft nothing!

Bananacustardyum · 03/04/2018 22:00

I’d love some dungarees where can I find some nice ones?

BusterGonad · 03/04/2018 22:17

I'm not sure that they can look feminine, don't get me wrong they can look nice but I wouldn't personally say particularly feminine.

rightknockered · 03/04/2018 23:18

A baker boy hat and industrial boots, oh wait....
I just wear mine like jeans, or roll them up a bit and wear with trainers. You could wear a cropped top underneath if you're feeling confident enough, but I think they look better a bit boyish

thefirstmrsdewinter · 03/04/2018 23:59

I think this looks fresh and feminine. But I'm having a white shoe moment so it could just be that.
