Which colour dress?

Looking for a dress for a night out. I'm very pale, shoulder length dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, which would suit my colouring more, the navy or the red?

Look at the back of your wrist - what colour are the veins?

Green veins - warm toned skin = choose the red
Blue veins - cooled toned skin = choose the blue
In between - neutral toned skin = up to you

Oo that's really helpful, thanks! Looks like I'm going for the navy Smile

I have that dress! If you want the red in a size 8 I'll post it to you for free, it's waiting to go to the charity shop :) I'm pale and I like the red, it's slightly more burgundy in real life. I'd recommend sizing up if you can because the leg slit can ride up VERY high if you have a big bum like me.

I just checked my veins and can’t work out the colour but that’s an interesting way to choose!

The red is a lovely colour. I would think with dark hair and dark eyes but light skin it might look very striking. If your skin isn’t prone to being pink or red would go for the red.

CountFosco · 03/04/2018 15:47

I would think you'd suit either. Isn't red suppose to suit everyone according to the HoC people?

TowerRose · 03/04/2018 15:47

Thanks all, and thanks for the offer @PretABoire unfortunately I'm a size 12, Im curvy but quite short so the split should be fine, how does the sizing come up generally?

Sizing is good, I'm 5'8 and the longer side does come down to my knee. It's got a lot of stretch, almost swimming costume material. It's absurdly flattering though, amazing on the waist and boobs :)

TowerRose · 03/04/2018 15:54

Brilliant, I'm 5'5 so I think the length will be fine Smile

It depends on the precise shade of red. There are cool toned reds that will look great on people with cool toned skin. It's pretty hard to gauge the colour accurately on my phone but I'd say that red is on the warm side whereas you can't go wrong with the navy.

INeedToEat · 03/04/2018 16:24

@towerRose

Thanks just what I needed for an upcoming party (went for the Navy). I'm 5 11" though so brought the mid length one that comes up longer.

Now what shoes to go with it ? ...

wakemeupbefore · 03/04/2018 16:28

Navy is always flattering, however, are you sure about that dress.........

HildaZelda · 03/04/2018 16:32

It sounds like we have very similar colouring and while red is my favourite colour, I'd go for the navy here because I think the red is more pink.

@wakemeupbefore, what's wrong with the dress? Hmm

wakemeupbefore · 03/04/2018 18:03

Well, it definitely is worth its cost... One can safely say one didn't pay too much for it.

HildaZelda · 03/04/2018 20:02

'One' is clearly a troll, so I won't engage with 'one' any further.

Sad.

wakemeupbefore · 04/04/2018 09:36

Hilda... dear, why call me a troll when I pointed out that the dress in question is cheap, looks cheaper than its price, which on its own is an achievement, and is most unflattering even on the model. It seems to suggest that either the dressmakes was pissed, hence the oddly asymmetrical hemline or simply run out of fabric.
Just a piece of disposable clothing that is clogging up this poor suffering planet.

MiniTheMinx · 04/04/2018 09:47

I don't like cheap throw away clothes, however I think it looks lovely, I like the red one. Not everyone has oodles of money to spend on clothes, but non the less as much right to feel happy in how they look. It's not for other people to judge whether someone's choice is cheap.
