St Tropez gradual tan question

Hi all, I’ve only ever dabbled with fake tan but this one was recommended partly due it not having fake tan smell - well it bloody does! How long should I wait before showering and slathering myself I’m soap to erase the aroma? Obviously the tan dries in minutes but I’ve no clue how it works? It’s the foam tanner, not the in shower version. Cheers!

If it's the gradual tan you're not really meant to shower it off like normal fake tan. I just tend to apply it in the evening/night and shower in the morning as usual. However I use the lotion so never have a problem with the smell, or i must just enjoy the biscuity aromaGrin

I smell like burnt biscuits! Shock

Morning shower it is then, if I can sleep through the stench Grin

Hahaha it will be worth it when you wake all glowy in the morn. I'm about to apply mine now if i can get off the sofa!

Determined not to spend another spring/summer in my trusty opaques twilight! Enjoy your tanning session Smile

Sooooo wish I could fake tan, just have no idea how to do it properly! How do I get my back? And ensure it's even? What's the process? Urgh i go so pale through winter...

Americantan · 02/04/2018 21:13

coffee I think it’s trial and error! I find rubbing it in in a circular motion gets a more even result. As for my back, it never gets done! I only tan the bits that I’ll show off fully clothed so the colour stops above my knee! I do look comical naked. Mind you, that’s a mistake as I’ve got a few days in the sun this week. Will just have to keep the kaftan on Wink. For a very special occasion I’ll get a spray tan done but hate how it rubs off on clothes especially if you sweat.

I love the smell!! Fingers crossed for an even tan when you wake up!

coffeecoffeemorecoffee · 02/04/2018 21:29

Oooh ok... and do you do the face?

Americantan · 02/04/2018 21:57

It will be scrubbing mitt for me if not Rory!

coffee yes, I use the special facial one. Frankly I’d use the body one on my face but I get frequent allergic reactions, hives, eyelid swelling and have an eczema patch on chin so can’t chance it. Not sure if it’s the active ingredient or coincidence but since tanning my face, my eczema patch has improved.

St tropez gradual tan stinks! Can't stand the smell of fake tan.

MrsSnitch · 03/04/2018 08:08

The cocoa butter gradual fake tan by palmers smells less offensive and is as effective

Americantan · 03/04/2018 14:39

MrsSnitch I’ve used the palmers version and agree the results are as good as St tropez but I find the scent worse, I smell like poor quality chocolate when I use it!!
