Are these Jack Wills dungarees nice?

Saw these dungarees. I really like the look of them, but I wonder if I can pull them off or whether I will look ridiculous. I'm 25, 5'4 and a size 8-10. Also, does anyone own these Jack Wills Dungarees? What is the fit and quality like? (If you've bought anything from Jack Wills before, are the items true to size or small? The quality?)

I thought 16 year old Private school kids bought Jack Wills.

DungareeGirl · 02/04/2018 18:27

From looking at their websites, they have lovely stuff in there. I didn't think it was popular with young people anymore anyway...half of the stuff you can't tell is from Jack Wills anyway as it isn't heavily logo-d and branded as such.

I think they’re nice but you could get much cheaper from Topshop or Asos

J0208 · 02/04/2018 18:32

They look nice and jack wills tend to be pretty good quality ime.

DungareeGirl · 02/04/2018 18:35

I can get 25% discount on them, lots of people have told me Jack Wills is better quality than top shop, I like the look of their stuff so I'll think I'll buy something with the discount and then I can ascertain their quality

I'd say Jack Wills come up small in size. I've got similar dungarees from New Look and love them. I think if you've got the confidence, you can pull them off. Mine are skinny fit (I'm a size 8) so you kind of do feel like everything is on show, but I don't care!

pigeondujour · 02/04/2018 22:34

I get a lot from Jack Wills (similar age and measurements to you) and their stuff is great quality. I'd say true to size verging on small. You can definitely pull them off and you'll look brilliant, these are lovely, so ignore the snide first comment.

DungareeGirl · 02/04/2018 22:43

Yes I'd want them quite a skinny fit, as I think the looser style ones just wouldn't flatter me unfortunately. Thank you for the advice, and I'll give them a go :) I'll try a size 10 first if Jack Wills are a bit small in size, thank you for confirming that for me !

@pigeondujour sorry, I know this is off topic, but as I said before I really like the look of the rest of the clothes they have. I never realised how lovely they were as I've not really looked at the brand before. If you don't mind saying, what are the best items they have in your opinion? I need some recommendations before I build my wardrobe up with it 😂

They look lovely - I’m A year younger than you and the same size as you (height and dress!) I love JW.
Agree with PP though, true verging on small, so although I’m occasionally an 8 in their I’m more often than not a 10.
The blazers and shirts are lovely. I also really rate their dresses. There are outlets in Bicester, gun wharf quay and Swindon MacArthur glen. If they’re close to you it’s worth a trip. Also an online outlet is around too.
It’s lovely but I never buy full price!

BennyTheBall · 02/04/2018 23:08

I have bought them for my God daughter, soon to be 18.

They're what she asked for, but I don't know what they will look like on. I suspect they suit the tall and willowy best. She's a curvaceous 12 and not very tall.

piercinggelo · 02/04/2018 23:10

I don't think anyone over the age of about 8 looks good in dungarees

honeylou42 · 03/04/2018 07:19

They look nice but have you looked in Primark ? My dd got a pair of black skinny dungarees from there and they look fantastic Smile

DungareeGirl · 03/04/2018 08:01

Oooh thank you for the tip, I'll definitely have a look in my local primark next time I'm out shopping.

For those who do own dungarees, what do you wear them with?

Literally no one gives a shit what you think @piercinggelo Easter Smile

OP I have loads of stuff of theirs but some of my best buys have been a tailored shirt (lasted me eight years then was passed down to someone and as far as I know is going strong!), a wool jumper I got this winter, several lovely dresses, and I've got a wool kilt of theirs that's really stunning. I used to like the branded stuff as a teenager but avoid it now - they're good for keeping their branding off the more grown up stuff.

pigeondujour · 03/04/2018 08:05

Cross post - I dress dungarees down with a casual tshirt or if I'm going out I usually wear them with a crop top - makes the outfit a bit more exciting but doesn't show that much flesh.

DungareeGirl · 03/04/2018 08:12

I love the look of their dresses, in fact I've just seen a pinafore in their sale section that I like as well 😊 Some of the dresses look very smart, but you can dress them down for everyday quite well I think.

I think this might be my new favourite shop, I can't believe I just consigned it as a shop for young teenagers! I've been missing out obviously
