Babyliss sheer volume or smooth and wave?

I have long hair and masses of it. I usually straighten it but really fancy a change. Will a babyliss sheer volume or smooth and wave be better? (I have a BBH which can’t cope with my thick hair as the bristles flatten). Thanks.

No help but very interested!

I have the sheer volume. I like it but it's not hugely different to straightening. You don't get the blunt ends but the overall effect is similar. I'm not convinced it would cope well with masses of long hair.

The problem
With the smooth and wave seems to be that you can only do tiny bits of hair at a time - which isn’t great for me.

I had to look up the smooth and wave. I haven't tried it but it looks very similar to the curl secret. The curl secret was an expensive mistake. It doesn't take very much hair in the barrel so if you have long hair you have to take lots of very small sections which takes ages and produces tighter curls than you'd like. If it's similar to the curl secret, I think with masses of long hair the sheer volume might be better.

Have you ever tried heated rollers?

Alienspaceship · 01/04/2018 23:41

I’d need several sets of heated rollers, so no, but I’ve heard they’re good.
I tried the curl secret but it gave a small tight curl and the problem with so much hair is that it would look mahoosive and ridiculous Grin

Will the sheer volume give some shape eg root lift and curve instead of dead straight?
