What Bobbi Brown eyeliner for tightlining?

I've read recommendations here before for BB eyeliner for tightlining but of course I can't find any now. Can someone tell me which one I should go for? I want to tightline my upper eyelid but it needs to stay put and not transfer to the lower one as I wear a nude eyeliner there. Thanks!

I never understood what tightlining is, but their liquid liner pen is crap^1000. It goes everywhere. I like their products in general though.

It's probably their pencil one, but I like the urban decay 24/7 pencil. The Lord and berry pencil is also supposed to be great for tightlining.

Watching with interest, every liner I have tried so far- even waterproof has transferred immediately to my lower lidHmm

AnaViaSalamanca · 01/04/2018 20:53

Idbemonica1 do you wear concealer or eye cream under your eye? They dissolve the eyeliner most likely. You have to experiment with different ones to find one that doesn't react. For a normal liquid liner I like stila.

It’s the kohl waterproof pencil- I’ve got it in mahogany and always get asked.
Second to the urban decay pencil, also surprisingly the topshop pencil is fab.

Thanks everyone. Funny I have the Urban Decay 24/7 one in black and it goes everywhere, I can't manage it at all. I've used MAC Teddy for years and it doesn't transfer but I want a change. Will check out all the suggestions. I'll have a look at the waterproof one too (have a voucher for a dept store that sells BB hence why I was asking about them). Thanks for the tip about their pen, I'll be avoiding that one!

Stoplickingthetelly do you know which Lord & Berry pencil? Had a look at their website and they have a good few.

It’s the longwear gel eyeliner that you want. Applied with an angled brush. Worn with their no smudge mascara. It won’t budge without an oil-based make-up remover.

Their opal glow highlighting powder is pretty gorgeous too

cessie322 · 01/04/2018 23:31

Ooh that highlighting powder sounds lovely MontyPants, I'm off to google it. Will have a look at the gel eyeliner as well? Is it easy to use? Complete novice here with gel eyeliners.

It's the gel liner that comes in a pot. Maybelline also make one, almost indistinguishable from BB... (comes with a brush too, but I prefer a flat angled brush myself).

IvorHughJarrs · 01/04/2018 23:43

Agree it's the gel liner you need, it's the only thing that doesn't transfer on me

cessie322 · 01/04/2018 23:55

Thanks everyone. I will have a look at the gel one when I'm in during the week. I see there's a few shimmer colours, I'd say they are lovely but I need something for the day. Is there a nice browny black?

Try Espresso or Caviar - both matte brown-black, I think Caviar might be darker. Sepia is matte brown.

gearandloathing · 02/04/2018 11:43

Aghast to hear the liquid eyeliner is crap -I've just bought it as they were doing a deal with the mascara (smokey eye plus liner together fo r£30) Now I know why - they must be desperate to get rid of loads of rubbish liquid eyeliners.

cessie322 · 02/04/2018 14:08

Thanks ZacheryQuack, going in later so will choose one of them.

Can you return gearandloathing?

I love the Clinique Skinny Stick in Demi Grape.

Really good & no transfer

ElizabethAllen · 02/04/2018 14:51

For tightlining, I keep going back to the Laura Mercier Tightline cake, if there's a counter in-store get them to try it on you. My latest has lasted at least a couple of years. I couldn't get on with the Bobbi Brown gel for tightlining, but worked fine above the lash line.

If you're lining the upper waterline, then the Marc Jacobs Highliners are really good.

mrslebon · 02/04/2018 17:20

Amy Conway, one of the BB Pros, used the long wear eye pencil in mahogany on me to do tightlining and it didn't shift. Just need to master the technique myself!

CertainlyChoco · 02/04/2018 21:51

Don't get the Maybelline one. Looks the same in the pot but it didn't work for my oiky lid. BB one works to my surprise. I also recommend Stila's liquid liner.
