Sweaty Betty

I love Sweaty Betty clothes but OMG they're eyewateringly expensive. And that's from someone who usually buys higher end high st (Mint Velvet, Jigsaw, French Connection) following a quality not quantity principle.

SB don't seem to have much in the way of a sale and aren't discounted anywhere. Am I missing something or does that mean the full price is actually well worth paying and they have no need to discount?

I have some of their clothing and now buy Lululemon instead from the Bicester Village outlet store. I think there are other good fitness brands around.

They just had a sale and they do heavily discount but things sell out quickly as a result. They also do fairly regular 10-20% offers but you probably need to sign up to their newsletter to her about them.

Having said that, their repeat core ranges such as black leggings, standard neutral colour vests etc don’t tend to go in sale other that on Black Friday, which they do participate in.

Also quality wise, its very hit and miss. Leggings and most vests are good but i dont touch their sweatshirts and knitwear with a barge pole, it’s bobbly crap after one wash.

Gap are excellent quality for a better price ( again sign up for discount codes, they do 40% off regularly).

For a trendier brand but also a bit pricey, check out Varley.

The Sweaty Betty leggings I have are the best ones I own, they don't fall down when working out and wash brilliantly.

They are expensive though

Their sports bras and leggings are great. I've not had much luck with their T-shirts. Holes have appeared after a couple of washes. They are really overpriced but the sales are good.

I bought a pair of grey SB yoga pants for 99p in a charity shop a few years ago......they really need to go in the bin now but I can't bring myself to buy a replacement!

cheeriosandcornflakes · 01/04/2018 12:57

YANBU it's overpriced imo, I'm amazed they sell much.

I am a massive fan of H&M's sport range for years and find their stuff good quality and long lasting.

It might not be as on trend as SB, but I find it lasts and doesn't lose shape. I have had a pair of leggings for 3 years!

phoolani · 02/04/2018 22:26

I love SB and find everything lasts for ages. I also spend a good portion of my waking life in workout gear so I don’t mind paying a bit more for what I want. I have a couple of their coats which I got in the sale and both are excellent and very stylish. That said, I have never paid full price for their leggings, I just think even for SB the leggings are overpriced.

I love Sweaty Betty leggings - the high-waist cut is super flattering and the quality is great but the price tag is pretty steep so here's a £25 discount voucher off any £50 spend which should hopefully make the clothes a vaguely OK price!
