What to wear with this at Christmas?

Yes, I know it’s ridiculously early but dh has started a new job and they have booked their Christmas do already. It is a formal thing at a posh hotel. I never go anywhere nice so rarely get dressed up.
I have this hanging in the wardrobe and have never worn it because I am too fat for it.
I am determined to shift some weight so that I can wear it so am going to keep an eye out for accessories.
I am useless at this kind of thing though.

What would you wear in terms of shoes, bag, jewellery and cover up please?

I think it's lovely. I'd look for similar shoes, a little glitzy bag and a cropped grey fur jacket. If you look for sale items now you may pick up some bargains from last year's party stock, rather than pay full price this winter.

I think silver shoes would look nice.
Debenhams have got some lovely silver court shoes and you can paid them with a silver clutch bag and a silver bangle.

Stay metallic! I’d add a cool leather biker jacket (casually slung over shoulders) with some metallic courts. Go for a silver blue/grey eye (Bobbi Brown is Charlotte Tilbury do some great colours like this) with loads of pigment and glitter. I’d do a great bracelet and if you’ve got long hair a statement hair slide or piece!

Jings Winky I swear you are psychic , I was going to start this thread exactly , my DD bought a very similar dress ( longer without a different neckline) from LittleMistress for prom.

We need to buy the shoes/hair decor/bag/consider make-up so I have nothing to add but I'm watching
