Help for a 45 year old who’s lost her way

Hi. I need some make-up and general “ grooming@ advice. I’m 45 and generally just put in clarins BB cream and Vaseline and face powder. I can’t use eyeshadow as it kicks off my eczema but mascara is ok. Problem is it all looks ok for a couple of hours then seems to just fall off. I live in jeans out of work - would quite like a cuffed trouser maybe for round the house Confused. What happens in those makeovers in department stores - do you have to buy the entire contents of their range?? I get my hair coloured regularly but other than that I feel old frumpy and mumsy.

Another vote for Dandelion. Works much, much better for me than bronzer does, as I'm v pale: bronzer makes me look mucky.

What is microblading?

I had a wonderful experience at the Dior counter, of all places, yesterday. I hung around till a woman I liked the look of was free, then pounced, and she was amazing. I've recently had to transition to wig wearing and I was quite open that I needed a fresh and bold look for days when I wasn't wearing hair (bald underneath), but I did not want a caked look or horrendous blending problems with my scalp. She took an hour, and said right off that she wasn't expecting me to buy everything she used as I'd have blushers, eye shadows etc at home, but she'd show me how to do several different looks. So she did a fresh, natural look; then built on that with very bold lips, then took the lipstick off and did amazing eyes, with just some lipgloss. She was outstanding, really listened to what my needs were. I did buy a foundation - the colour match was excellent, a mascara, which I needed anyway, and a couple of lipsticks in colours I'd never have tried. Then she gave me a load of freebies as well :). I would never have considered Dior, so I think there is value in lurking round a beauty hall and looking not so much the products as the staff, how they look, how they are engaging with people etc. I had gone in intending to visit BB, but ended up with Dior based solely on this woman.

Motoko Microblading is eyebrow tattooing but it is done by hand with a little blade when done well it looks very natural, if you have a look on youtube there are loads of videos about, but I go to a very well respected lady who is outstanding at what she does.

Thanks for the explanation GreyHare. Sounds like a good fix for sparse eyebrows.
