Smudging eye makeup

Argh. I love mascara and eyeliner, but ageing eyes plus very heavy-lidded eyes means that they always, always smudge (especially when I'm smiling a lot.) Anything I can do about this please?

Was it really painful and expensive? I've always had really heavy lidded eyes and they're getting more so as I get older (my Dad had an eye lift on the NHS in his late 50s because his were impacting on his vision!)

No not painful - you are numbed - bit like a filling, you know it hurts because you can hear it but you can't feel it.

An eye primer. Urban decay is great.
