How long does yours last, does it require any care and is it worth it? Thanks Smile

I've had LVLs regularly for a couple of years and there's definitely been no change to my natural lashes, although I religiously use lash serum every night. I have mine done every 8 weeks with a regular tint at the 4-week mark.

Alienspaceship · 31/03/2018 12:48

Thanks all. Any recommendations for a lash serum?

I had it done once and it looked rrally unnatural... I looked like an anime character

Cantchoosenickname · 31/03/2018 14:16

I’m back from my appointment and I absolutely love them! Hopefully they’ll stay like this for a while.

Any recommendations for a lash serum?

I like Rapidlash or Talika Lipocils - both seem to work with no irritation problems.

'Without wanting to sound dramatic, discovering lash lifts has changed my life'

That is dramatic, but I love it Grin

I felt the same way when I began to get my eyebrows tinted a few years ago.

I'm intrigued Grin

Lifeaback that looks really good.

peacheachpearplum · 31/03/2018 20:06

This might be silly but I'll ask anyway. I have long eye lashes, very straight and very annoying with glasses as if I wear the glasses properly my lashes touch the glass and it gets painful by the end of the day. Now for the silly bit. Do you think having a lash lift would make my lashes less likely to rub against my glasses because of the curl? I'd be tempted to have it done if it would, seems frivolous at my age, mid 60s, but my eyes do hurt.

TittyGolightly · 31/03/2018 20:44

Yes. Absolutely. I have the same problem.

peacheachpearplum · 31/03/2018 21:13

Oh TittyGolightly thank you. I'd never heard of it but I am sitting here with soet eyes. I hate wearing glasses but can't wear contacts and didn't think there was a solution. Just need to find somewhere local now.

Holycrapwhatnow · 31/03/2018 21:19

My thin straight lashes look amazing with them done - friends look at me for a minute and say I look well rested / ask if I've lost weight. However the cost and the time to do them is tricky, even though for me the half outer eye alone is pretty fine.
Also - the result is massively down to the skill of the person doing it, and whether they are actively looking for a false lash look or a natural one. I'd try to find someone who does mink or fine lashes and who you have personal recommendation for, or a ton of online testimonials.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 31/03/2018 21:50

peach I agree with titty , mine typically flick off my glasses when I rarely bother my arse to wear them but when I have a lift they don't touch at all.

The cost really varies, on a fb group for a medical problem I have someone had paid £140 Shock mine cost me £45 with eyebrow wax/threading and optional eyebrow tinting too.

That’s extensions, not lifting.

itsbetterthanabox · 31/03/2018 23:19

Nouveau who make LVL. Which is is one brand of lash lift and tint do an aftercare lash serum.

Ididnthearanything · 31/03/2018 23:40

I love it too. Fine fair straight lashes. The tint doesn’t make a huge difference but the lift is fab. Lasts about 6 weeks on me. I look much fresher with it.

There is a certain amount of skill involved and you do need someone experienced. My left eye lash lift last time was not great. Right eye gorgeous Wink, left eye Hmm, jeez, the lashes were going in every direction!

TittyGolightly · 01/04/2018 00:03

Got it nailed with mine after a few goes. The left eye needs about 30 secs more than the right, weirdly. My lashes grow quite quickly and the new ones coming in so straight drive me insane. 6 weeks is just too long. My beautician doesn’t work every Saturday so 4 weekly it is for me. Costs me £30 including the tint, and an extra £5 if I want my eyebrows dyed at the same time.

Paleshelter · 01/04/2018 09:30

I've had two lash lifts recently, about 11- 12 weeks apart. The first one looked fab, such a difference as my lashes are long but point downwards. The second time looked good initially but then started to look spider, some drooping down. Some where also curling to the side. It's put me off having another although I love the effect. Does somewhere like Boots sell the lash serum? Thanks.

Paleshelter · 01/04/2018 09:30

*spidery

Oblomov18 · 01/04/2018 10:09

Mine was great, and lasted many weeks, but I do have incredibly long/thick and naturally curly eyelashes. (Don't worry it's one of my very few redeeming features Wink)
So I did think it was worth it. But I'd only have it done very occasionally.

peacheachpearplum · 01/04/2018 10:13

Brazzle thanks for that. Unfortunately I need my glasses all the time so it gets really uncomfortable. I will definitely have a look after the holiday, I'm sure somewhere locally must do it.

lodybotion · 01/04/2018 10:16

I've been toying with the idea of a lash lift for years. Mine are dead straight but long. I curl them every day for work which i hate doing and I'm not sure it lasts. Will give it a go perhaps!

Chanelprincess · 01/04/2018 13:16

Paleshelter
Boots sells Rapidlash and Look Fantastic sells Talika but check they're the cheapest places if you're thinking of giving either a try. I've only used the Nouveau lash serum samples you get when you have the LVLs done so can't really comment on how good that is, but I've used the others for years.

Paleshelter · 01/04/2018 15:18

Chanel thanks very much, I will have a look next time I'm in Boots. What are LVLs? Maybe I should get the lash lift with someone else and see if its better.

LauraMathews · 17/10/2019 12:32

Totally worth it. I have a lash lift kit that without any damage, gives me perfect curled lashes so I love it.
