Where can I buy properly lined dresses and skirts?

I’m getting frustrated that all the dresses and skirts I come across now are not lined. I’d rather not go around in something that will reveal my underwear if the sun shines behind me! I’ve tried wearing an underslip, but unfortunately that was a bit see-through too. Where can I find clothes that have a proper lining and don’t cost too much?

Unfortunately 'doesn't cost too much' is the issue... I've seen lovely clothes from the likes if L K Bennett etc that are beautifully made but cost £££ cheaper clothes will skimp on finish Sad

Yes Lexi1970 it is a pity - I’m sure that 5 or 10 years ago I could buy well-made, properly lined/sufficiently thick fabric things from shops like Jane Norman and Dorothy Perkins. I actually tried on a Hobbs dress last autumn that said in the product description that it was ‘fully lined’. Unfortunately, the ‘lining’ turned out to be just a semi-sheer underslip that wasn’t even sewn onto the skirt of the dress!

Lots of my Boden skirts have linings esp autumn and winter styles.

Quite a few Boden dresses are lined but some have that awful very thin jersey type cotton lining so it just rubs up against the dress and the dress rides up and/or hangs terribly. Awful. For any dress that doesn't have a lining, I'll always wear one of those cool comfort M&S slips - I swear by them.
