Revolution fast base foundation

So after waiting for ages to get my hands on this, I finally got some last night.

I've got normal fair, frecklely skin. I used shade F4 this morning. I'm 45, I'm told I look younger (but I don't feel it!!!)

Anyway, i applied my usual Nivea Soft moisturiser, followed by the Kiss 'Prime of your life' primer. Once that was left for a minute I applied the Fast Base foundation - then blended with a brush - now I usually apply foundation with my fingers so this was new to me. I found that I had to apply quite a bit of the fast base, as you have to stroke it on your face. I usually only have to apply a small amount of foundation, as I find if I apply a lot or too much it makes me look older or I feel like I've caked it on. I didn't like applying this much foundation, I felt uncomfortable with it, but I kept with it, it's very 'creamy' almost emoilient like. I always set my foundation with a pressed powder so I did this & had to do more of this too. Once I did this, the finish was good.

So, I'm not blown away with it, I think it'll be suited to more younger skin types. I'm just not use to applying with a brush or puting that much on, I could try applying with my fingers I suppose and it didn't work unless I applied more of the product ikuwim? So using less wouldn't work. I don't think it'll be my everyday foundation maybe kept for evening's out, which are extremely rare!

I also got one yesterday to try. It's not bad but not amazing either. The coverage is pretty good, I just drew a few lines on my face and blended with a sponge. It was a pretty quick application so it definitely gets points for that.

I really like it but used in combination with my usual ELDW. I just use it round the eyes and particularly blemished patches. The colour match is perfect for me. For the price I think it's good, I can see it would be quite drying though I'm already dry skin.

I tried it again yesterday & really didn't like it and I so wanted to as well! It felt like I was layering a combo of Vaseline & E45 on my face! At least it was only a fiver & I hate saying only When it comes to money!

Never mind, I've tried it now. Will stick with my usual. Does anyone else do this? Quite happy with their usual foundations/primers but feel the need to try something new, only to find it's not that good & what we already had worked great anyway?!

I do it. I’ve had a few samples of stuff lately and still come back to my LM Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free in Bisque. It’s pointless trying other products really but there’s always a chance something less expensive may be just as good.
