Best non-matte foundation for slightly oily skin

This has probably been asked a million times before but I'm fairly new to foundation. I had pretty good skin until I hit 40 and now I need one. I have pretty normal skin but it gets a bit oily and my foundation tends to go patchy through the day. I need a non-matte lasting foundation with a medium coverage.

I don't really have any issues with my skin apart from redness on my cheeks and broken veins around my nose. I can get the occasional spot at certain times of the month but that's it.

Can you help? I am prepared to spend around £30 for something decent. I'm also not overly keen on going into a shop because I'm a sucker for a hard sell and will end up spending a fortune. Do companies send out or sell testers for colour match? I'm clueless!

I read on a thread here that SpaceNK send samples if you email them.
Estée Lauder double wear light isn’t as full on matte as the regular double wear.

You could try Bobbi Brown. I like the original skin foundation but you’d want to have a powder or primer to help it last/ their serum foundation is also good.

I just picked up a Bourjois healthy mix one in Sainsbury’s for £7 but a review based on one application probably isn’t very useful! They do a serum version of the same one which might be better but I think there are fewer shades.

Do you have a large Boots near you where you can browse the different brands? No7 is also quite decent and there’s often a 3 for 2.

I rarely wear foundation, but when I do, I wear Lancome Teint Miracle. They do a great range of shades (it's one of the few that goes pale enough for me!) & they should decant a decent tester sample for you if you ask. Buildable so can be very sheer or more coverage if you want.

I’d forgotten about the Lancôme one. The teint miracle is very nice.

I have extremely oily skin, early 40s. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear - the regular one. My face usually stays matte all day with DW and fixing spray.

Maybelline Fit Me matte is good for the money too.

Sorry misread your post as looking for matte coverage Blush DW definitely won't do then!!

Thank you all. I've had a look at the Lancôme online and I think I'm going to have to go into a shop to try it out. It's better now that I know what I'm looking for. I'll go in, ask for a sample, then leave. No hard sell for me to fall for. Thanks again.
