Am I too old for yellow doc marten shoes?

I'm 38, size 18 and knackered. Am I too old and fat to wear yellow doc marten shoes? Maybe with cropped jeans?

What's your beef with DMs Dog?

Sounds personal.

stilllearnin · 29/03/2018 04:48

I live near the factory outlet in Wollaston...I have a lot of DMs.

Too old for a style of shoe!!! Pah!

LiquoriceTea · 29/03/2018 04:54

I like the wanderlust ones and am considering it. Also large and old!

Riddo · 29/03/2018 05:34

I'm 52 and have 3 pairs of DMs, they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever had and I'm planning to wear them to my daughter's wedding 🙂

I have rainbow glitter ones!!! My year 2 class think they are fab!

Glittermakeseverythingbetter · 29/03/2018 12:19

Yellow or red DMs are too clown like. Especially paired with crop jeans!! Eek!

Diamonddealeroncemore · 29/03/2018 17:59

I’m 57 and have a pair of pink DMs and I always get compliments on them.

BillWagglestaff · 29/03/2018 20:47

@stilllearnin, what is the outlet like? I've often been tempted to go but it's an hour and a half from me, so not sure if it's worth it. Does it have really good bargains and unusual styles?

Love DMs. Have three pairs and live in them.

Sallystyle · 29/03/2018 20:49

I am 36 and just bought the black glitter ones. They are very glittery and gorgeous.

You are not too old.

stilllearnin · 29/03/2018 21:34

Hmmm it is hit and miss and they’ve started introducing more expensive stuff - where it was once £25 for shoes, £30 for boots!!! You can still get them at that price.

Plenty of unusual styles- more that than standard cherry reds etc. They’re really helpful and you can call ahead to ask what’s available in your size. Smile

stilllearnin · 29/03/2018 21:36

I’m due a sort out maybe this weekend- shall I photo all my current dm’s?? (left some at my ex’s Shock)

ScreamingValenta · 29/03/2018 21:39

There's no such thing as being too old to wear something. Go for it.

BrownTurkey · 29/03/2018 21:39

Dds friends Dad laughed outright at my white ones. However, this made me want to wear them more.

madamedepoppadom · 29/03/2018 21:44

Are you still alive? Then you're not too old.

Mulberrysilk · 29/03/2018 21:54

No problem with dms. Its the yellow that's not sitting well with me.

WrenNatsworthy · 29/03/2018 21:55

I'm 45. I've had a pair DMs in my wardrobe since I was 16.
I love them once they're worn in!

VickieCherry · 29/03/2018 21:58

I'm 36 and have the purple glittery ones. They're amazing! Not at all chic but also not at all boring.

BillWagglestaff · 30/03/2018 10:30

Thank you @stilllearnin! Might plan an Easter outing. :)
