Why is my hair so straight?!

This is my hair when I don't do anything to it. I washed it and it air dried. I hadn't even brushed it at this stage.

Just why is it so fucking straight?! It's very slippery and won't hold a curl no matter what I do. I can have it blow dried in the salon and strut out swishing like a fucking hair model and by the time I've driven home it's completely straight again.

Some of my friends had straight hair which went curly during puberty or when dying it but mine has remained true to its roots.

I feel like it hangs there like a pair of curtains. I just wish it had a tiny bit of movement to it.

Is there anything I can do, or am I resigned to having poker straight hair for the rest of my life?

snoooop I had a cold perm (Joico K-pak). It looks really frizzy (immediately after the perm - and I know it will again after I wash it), but I use a curling tong to give waves/big curls.

Mine won’t hold a curl either. But the way I blow dry it stops it hanging like curtains over my face. I blow dry the front away, off my face, then blow dry the rest upside down. I use Aveda volumisind spray which helps to give it lift.

I too have poker straight hair and can't believe that those with wavy or curly hair want it straight! I use mousse and big rollers to give some body and shape, stays in for a couple of days.

Interestingly my father used to have very curly hair and it’s now straight.

I'm very jealous. I'm stuck with dry frizzy naturally curly hair, and my GHD's are my one true love (sorry to my son and my husband)
