Longline gym vest recommendation

Can anyone recommend a flattering gym top for me? I've been struggling with agoraphobia for a while now. Combined with weight gain from meds I'm not feeling very body-confident Sad

I need to get back to the gym for my own sanity but I can't seem to find flattering clothes and it's adding to my anxiety Blush I know I should get over myself and just GO but I feel ashamed looking like a lycra-sausage in the mirror, I'd like to feel comfortable.

I'm sorted for trainers, sports bra, trousers/capris and Bluetooth headphones. I'm a 32/34G, 14-16 and have developed a pot belly from the meds. Most vests seem to cling to my boobs and belly. Sizing up makes them too loose around my neck. I sweat loads so dri-fit fabric is preferable although cotton is okay if not. Sleeves make me look boxy.

I suppose I'm looking for a longline vest that's not too thin but not too tight, and doesn't cost the earth!

I'm prepared to be told to just wear anything and GO. Hopefully the problem will solve itself once I begin to lose weight Blush

I double up. One a close fit and the one over it slightly looser. From H&M sportswear or TKmaxx. Not sure if that helps, but it doesn't cling to the bumps. Might try Primark next as theirs seem ok.

Thanks Diana, that's a great idea! I think I worried I'd get too warm but if the outer one is flow-ier it should be okay.

There was a huge gym clothes thread on here recently, I need to dig it out Smile

I find Gap stuff comes up long in the body (on me, at least!) and their gym stuff is really good quality too

Seconding the TK Maxx and Gap suggestions - even better if you can get the latter in the sale or with one of the daily codes.

DragonsAndCakes · 27/03/2018 17:54

I got a nice double layered top in Tkmaxx. Top one is shorter and waftier.

I have a men's cycling t-shirt. Its loose and cool and the back hem dips lower than the front, so it covers my arse up perfectly.

New Look sell long cotton vests

GingerKitCat · 27/03/2018 18:41

Thanks all, I'm going to check all of these out! Men's cycling top is a good call, I love dipped rear hems Grin

I haven't shopped at GAP for years, I'm off to check their stuff out online Smile

I feel pathetic but it's really bothering me Blush Thank you all for humoring me.

I was about to post a thread asking for longline vest tops!
I go running but can't wear the short running tops with my leggings as I have to wear the massive tena lady pads. Blush and they show quite badly.

thenightsky · 27/03/2018 21:57

Hmm. I've just googled to see if I can find an example of my men's cycling t-shirt, but there are none on line. They all look tight and horrible. I know I've had mine about 10 years and fashion moves on, but surely a loose technical top like that should still be available Confused
