Has anyone seen a dress like this for a 12 year old?

DD who usually has a very casual style has totally fallen in love with this dress. She is very petite though and even the XS is too big on shoulders and in the length. Because it's knitted I'm not sure how easy it would be to alter.
Does anyone know where I might find similar in children's sizes? 11-12 or age 12?

Thanks

blue dress

Similar colour, but probably not her thing.

Thanks Signora. That's lovely but definitely a bit too young for her.
She's at an awkward stage for clothes these days.

Is it the knitted pattern that she likes particularly or is it more the style of the dress??
The style in easy to find - a lot of places call it a “skater” dress (loads on ASOS!)

I'll have to ask her that Mamma!
I was just so surprised she expressed an interest in an item of clothing. We have a few family occasions coming up and it has been so difficult to find her anything other than sporty clothes lately. She is definitely developing curves but she is only about 4'8 or 4'9 so proportions of even XS or size 6 clothes are wrong on her.

It looks like a skater style dress, Abercrombie and Hollister have some, but you might have the same problem size wise.

Rylanmakesmyheartsmile · 26/03/2018 13:21

This dress isn't knitted but it IS skater style so that perfect mix of casual and dressy.

I've tried it on instore and it's really lovely, but too short for me and I thought at the time it would be perfect for a cool teen. (I feel too old to carry the length off!) It has a corset back so can be pulled in if it's too big for her and it's meant to look a little boxy round the shoulders so the size 6 might work

I'd also second A&F - their stuff tends to come up quite small and narrow so it might be a good fit. Returns are expensive though if you don't know what you're looking for and buy different options online with the intention of returning some

MammaH2018 · 26/03/2018 13:26

Topshop size 4 or 6 would probably fit her, they tend to run pretty small with their sizing. H&M would be another place to try.
You may have to take her in and get her to try some dresses on - just to get an idea of the sizing, then you’ll know which shops and which sizes work for her

Does it have to be blue or is that just the style of dress she likes?

Plain black jersey, but similar lp2.hm.com/hmprod?set=source[/model/2017/F00%200315352%20006%2055%201874.jpg],type[STILLLIFE_FRONT]&hmver=1&call=url[file:/product/main]
