Thoughts on this dress and colour combos?

I have a wedding to go to in May.

What do people think of this dress: www.oasis-stores.com/gb/clothing/dresses/citrus-floral-bardot-dress/065484.html

And which colour in it would you use to accessorise with?

I have a cropped cream blazer I can wear for the ceremony. Is that too much cream/white?

Thanks

I'm going to say no for a wedding 😕 too white/cream, especially with a cream jacket, sorry OP, probably not what you wanted to hear!

Pootle40 · 25/03/2018 21:50

Lovely dress! My first thought on accessories was pulling out the navy in the dress?

Pootle40 · 25/03/2018 21:51

I think then I would absolutely wear it to a wedding.....don't think it's in the upstage the bride or even close because of the colours in it.

Pootle40 · 25/03/2018 21:52

Navy pashmina rather than full on jacket?

milkntwo · 25/03/2018 21:53

I was thinking navy, but I am worried it’s too cream as Snowiest said. That’s probably eh post that will stand out list for me Sad But it’s appreciated all the same!

That's a lovely dress! I'm not sure about a cream jacket though; think I’d go for a colour.

PuntCuffin · 25/03/2018 21:55

It's not in the remotest bit bridal, either in style or pattern. Pick one of the colours in the pattern and accessorise to that.

Badwifey · 25/03/2018 21:56

Nothing wrong with that for a wedding. There's tonnes of colour in it. Go for it. I would leave off the blazer though and put a navy shoe and wrap with it.

HesterShaw · 25/03/2018 21:58

That dress isn't remotely "too cream"!

Couldn't comment on the jacket but then again I remember my MIL wearing a cream trouser suit to my wedding and I wasn't aware of anyone batting an eyelid. Didn't think anything of it. However maybe a coloured pasmina/jacket might be wiser.

milkntwo · 25/03/2018 21:58

That models 5ft 9 and I’m not quite 5ft 2 so I’m probably onto plums anyway Grin

I wore a cream jacket with a coloured dress to a wedding once. I had no idea I might have got side eye from people. I don't think I did. I've seen cream on guests at plenty of weddings and no-ones thought anything of it. A white dress maybe but otherwise I honestly don't think anyone's bothered.

It's a very nice dress btw. Smile

milkntwo · 25/03/2018 22:50

I’ve actually just realised I wore the cream jacket with a rather similar cream floral dress to a wedding a few years ago. The dress was actually also from Oasis. The royal blue shoes I wore then would probably go too. I don’t know if that helps me or makes its a definite no!

beautiful dress perfect for a wedding. Try your royal blue shoes on with it I reckon they'd look great

Lookatmenow · 26/03/2018 14:26

think your first dress is lovely and not at all to light for a wedding - considering most wedding take place in summer months, what are people suppose to wear if not light coloured clothes!!!!!!

I saw this dress and think it's lovely but sadly i don't have a wedding (or other occasion) to go to for it

I would pick out one of the colour size in the dress, possibly navy or the pink, cream is hard to match as so many different hues of cream.
