Static in clothes, argh!

Good afternoon folks!

Just looking for some advice re. my absolute bugbear: static clothes! 😬 I am not looking to be told not wear polyester - I have some gorgeous polyester clothes and am not in a position to buy a whole new wardrobe...but how, please how do stop my clothes clinging to me in the most unsightly way? I can't bear it! I've tried hairspray...

Thank you in advance 😊 x

Fabric softener and dryer sheets should help but it's just the nature of polyester.

Hi Starfish - if it's a skirt or dress, wear a slip underneath. I find that eliminates static.

Try putting bodycream on your skin beforehand

Underskirt, slip, camisole.

Wash and dry hands and the run them over the clothes whilst wearing them

Running a wire coathanger under the offending item is supposed to work too.

Attach a safety pin to the hem. It works for me!

Use fabric conditioner in the last rinse when washing your clothes.

If it's a static skirt against tights, then rub body lotion or any cream over the top of the tights around the hips and thighs. Just a little bit really stops static. I had some dresses I liked but didn't wear because of being clingy but cream helps a lot.
