What SPF spray goes on well over makeup?

I'm struggling to balance wearing a high factor SPF under my foundation. Does anyone apply make as normal then finish with a SPF spray. How does it feel on, and does it interfere with your makeup at all?

I have a Bioderma SPF spray which I apply over make up but only in hot countries on holiday as it does have a sheen to it. Best one I’ve tried though. You could try a mineral powder make up which has SPF but I’m not confident about the coverage you would get with it.
What’s the issue with wearing SPF under make up? I think you need to try lots before you find your holy grail! My HG is a Japanese one (think Asian SPFs are best) Biore UV perfect Bright Face Milk SPF 50 which makes my make up go on a dream over the top. It has a slight pink
sheen which dries down matt and feels more like a primer.

I'm currently using the LRP Anthelios XL SPF 50 under my foundation. But even after leaving it for 20 mins to soak in, it still feels not properly absorbed and my foundation pills.

I have ordered the Biore Watery Essence to see if that absorbs any better.

The Biore watery essence is brilliant though i think the reformulated waterproof version isn’t supposed to be as good as the previous version. Worth a try!

I use a cheap Soltan facial sunscreen from Boots under my make up. It's absorbed in less than a minute, no sheen or greasy residue, make up applies as usual.

I'd recommend Altruist spf50 from amazon, really well priced, doesn't leave a white residue and sinks in quickly.

Biore Aqua watery Essence (does contain some alcohol, so maybe not for drier skin).

Is an spf spray chemical or a mineral based?

The Las Roche Posay spray is chemical ASAIK. Don't know about the others. Is there a mineral spray? I don't think spraying nano particles of Zinc oxide is good for your lungs.

I'm never that confident that I spray enough of the stuff to get a decent spf. It's hard to know, compared to a cream.

I’m using this at the moment under foundation and it’s great. I’ve got really oily skin so I need a bit of blotting but it’s not major. It gives a lovely glow.

Yes,I thought sprays would have to be chemical. As far as I understand chemical spf products MUST be in direct contact with the skin in order to work so spraying over foundation is useless.
Unless I have completely misunderstood and this is incorrect information then I do worry that people don't understand how to use some spf products.

I just bought this Ambre Solaire spray - it says it can be worn over make-up, and judging by the usage instructions I'd say it's a mineral SPF, not a chemical one.

It's not bad, takes a little while to soak in, but it's tricky to apply evenly - I have to go into the bathroom and tie my hair right back, in case it goes everywhere.

I'm with you ProperLavs. Chemical SPF applied before everything else.
I do see advice to the contrary, but AFAIK chemical spf first, it needs to 'bind' with the skin.
Good point tho, I wonder how effective are SPF sprays?

Both types of sunscreen have there pros and cons of course, but I would be very doubtful that a spray would cover all areas of the face adequately without being rubbed in afterwards.nsurely far better to apply the sunscreen and have the foundation as the last step.
Caroline Hirons, whom I do find annoying, has some interesting videos about the different types and I believe Paula's choice also offers valuable advice.
I use spf 50 all year round, even in the depths of winter when the sky is black and it's pouring with rain. I also work indoors, but uva penetrates through glass, so unless you work in a darkened box you need to use it and use it properly.

I have struggled with this for years, until last summer I discovered the body shop one. Really high spf, goes on like water. Totally lovely under makeup. Completely recommend it.
