NARS Sheer Glow Vs Estée Lauder Double Wear

I've worn Double Wear for years, but I'm wanting to look a little more 'fresh' and 'glowing'.

I'm olive skinned and very yellow and apparently Nars offers this in their shades quite well? No other foundation brand I've tried has given me the correct level of yellow, apart from DW in shade 'Cashew'

I also don't live anywhere near a Nars counter so no idea what shade to go for.

Does anyone prefer it to DW?

I do love DW for its long lasting finish but it hasn't got the right finish, if that makes sense Blush

Ha! I wear DW every day and recently ordered a Nars sample - it arrived today! Will report back...

Following! I also have used double wear for years but keen to try sheer glow after my make up artist used for my wedding last year. Unsure if it was the whole combination of products used though! I plan to buy a bottle when I've run out - I buy a few at a time of DW.

Have you tried double wear light? I had a sample and was plesently surprised.

Somebody posted this link earlier
www.temptalia.com/foundation-matrix/match Should help you see if nars match your current shade.

pumpkin I haven't tried the light version but I've been given a sample today of the Water Fresh? Not sure what the difference would be. Why do you use the original DW usually and not the light?

phool Fabulous, Thank you. I've been matched with what I thought I was - Barcelona Smile

I had the same dilemma last year when searching for a new foundation. I loved the cover of DW but preferred the finish of nars. So now I wear both Grin it may be a crime against make up but I often do a thin layer of dw then go over with nars or mix a bit of both together before applying. Seems to work a treat!

Pink You're a cheat Grin

All I have emailed. Hopefully they don't think I'm being cheeky. I did include that I was desperate to order from them

I recently bought Nars Sheer Glow, and I do like it. However, it is neither sheer nor glowy, more of a medium matte coverage. It goes on best with a foundation brush, and I find it looks like it sits on my skin initially after applying, but if I wait a few mins before putting on concealer etc, it looks really nice. Long lasting too, and they do a great range of colours. Definitely not as matte or as heavy as DW though.

I feel like I see you everywhere OP, on style and beauty at least 😂

lisa Thank you, really helpful review!

I'm desperate to give it a go but no stores that sell it nearby and the company I was recommended to email on here for a sample sent me this. Think I'll just order a sample of two colours I think I'll match from eBay and buy the full bottle if I like it.

I'm very yellow and olive skinned and people are suggesting if Stromboli is too pale, to skip Barcelona completely (the next shade up) because it's too 'peachy' - And go for Syracuse, two shades up. Most likely not helpful to anyone really but if you're olive skinned and reading this from a Google search or something, that's what seems to come up a lot after extensive Googling myself

Blue Hello to you from the eyebrow thread Grin

SG is a nice foundation but it is commonly reported to break up on your skin by the time you get to mid-afternoon (this is an experience that I had too) whereas DW, it does not budge until you take makeup remover to it.
SG does lean v yellow. I am super pale and the shade Siberia is great, it's just that it goes patchy and then it starts to look terrible so that makes me like it a lot less.
DW is a great foundation and it's a shame it doesn't run to super pale shades. I just accept that I have a bit of a foundation line going on.
