Primer - what's it for?

I was getting stuff in Bobbi Brown yesterday and she mentioned primer. To be honest I'm not really sure what it's for?! Any tips or recommendations??

Makes everything stay on better.

Cleanse, serum, moisturiser, primer, foundation.

Google it and you’ll find loads.

I like the M&S one.

Pollyfilla

I too got primer for first time recently as I have started noticing my pores in my forehead and nose a bit more with age and I think it's improved the look of my made up face a bit - I don't know what serum is tho hat the last poster talked about ?

Prima is like pollyfilla? Really? Which one is best?

Ofthread · 22/03/2018 20:39

I don't know which one is best, perhaps someone else can advice. They are basically a silicone layer that sits on the surface of your skin to make a smoother surface.

Mulberrysilk · 22/03/2018 22:12

It's basically just slathering your face in silicone to fill in the lines and provide an even base for make up to stick to so I'm going to go with bathroom sealer rather than pollyfilla Grin

I know people swear by them and they do exactly what it says I the tin (to continue the DIY theme) but I feel like I'm wearing a mask when I use a primer.
